We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The birthday dinner at Casa Gwynnie last night was some Redheads I shot in Manitoba in October. Every bit as flavorful as Canvasbacks. Roasted them on the grill, of course. Rare.
I would like to hear from the gals at MF who are shooters; please write in with your suggestions for shotguns and fittings that you think an older short gal might be comfortable with out on the trail. That would be so helpful!
We'll discuss wild duck cooking one of these days.
Everybody has his favorite method, but the main point is that it should be cooked rare - but not quacking.
