We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
NOAA, part of the Department of Commerce, is going to be providing information to individuals and decision-makers through a new NOAA Climate Service office. “More and more, Americans are witnessing the impacts of climate change in their own backyards, including sea-level rise, longer growing seasons, changes in river flows, increases in heavy downpours, earlier snowmelt and extended ice-free seasons in our waters. People are searching for relevant and timely information about these changes to inform decision-making about virtually all aspects of their lives,” the release says.
More and more, it seems, we are having weather. There never used to be weather before Capitalism.
The New England Puritans interpreted the weather in terms of God's Providence and their own status among the elect. I suspect the scientists at the conference would snigger about that.
The North American and European left are suffering from a chronic irony deficiency. Delivery must have been slowed by the weather.

Would you trust their information? Wasn't NOAA, along with NASA, faking the temperature data? I am reminded of the accounting firm that worked for ENRON receiving the ignobel prize in mathematics for their use of imaginary numbers in accounting.
Looks like you're up to your ass in "earlier snowmelt and extended ice-free seasons".
I believe that God has a great sense of humor. How else would one explain the "Gore effect" (see Tim Blair), hurricane seasons that aren't and record low temps and snowfalls during the left's push for carbon taxes. Somewhere, someone is laughing.
