We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
This morning. If you are deprived by not being familiar, that's the eastern edge of Central Park on the right, around 92nd St - a darn pleasant neighborhood.
Deprived?
of what?
That traffic?
Those huge side by side buildings?
Come out to the real America where a traffic jam is 8 cars waiting at 8 A.M. for the only traffic light in town.
I had a girlfriend who had a co-op on the other side of Central Park at 96th St. I knew the neighborhood well 30 years ago. I like my neighborhood better now, even though I chased a black bear off the front porch this evening. Central Florida no less. I thought it was a large dog at first until it turned around and ran off.
