Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Dog furniture


Some people like to crate their dogs at home, and some do not. Furthermore, some dogs love their crates and some hate to feel confined. We tended to crate our previous dog, but not our current pup. I never minded the look of a dog crate or two in a family room, but Orvis has some that are more functional for people - and which look more like furniture.

I think the one on the left stinks. Your faithful companion cant see out of that box. Might as well lock him in the closet.

Actually, there are dogs who would prefer the first one. I have an open wire crate (with no door anymore) for my current dog and he will only go in and rest in there if it's nearly completely covered with a blanket. It's more denlike and pleasant for them if it isn't open all around - of course it depends on the dog, but my personal experience (with six different dogs) is mine definitely seem to prefer "closed" houses to open wire crates. I don't use them for confinement however, just for a peaceful, personal place to rest when they choose to (I have energetic children!).

Well that looks very beautiful. I do like Dog Crate End Tables, as much as having a metal cage around. It's indeed very easy on the eyes. It actually looks the same as the one I found on ebay
