Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Sunday, November 15. 2009Is President Obama An “Idiot”?Two prominent blogs raise the question of whether President Obama is an “idiot.” John Hinderaker at PowerLine wonders, “One seriously hesitates to draw the conclusion that Barack Obama is an idiot, no matter how strongly the evidence may point in that direction. But what are we to make of a man who is ignorant of history; who is ignorant of economics; who despises his own country; and who appears to believe that awareness of his own wonderfulness is enough to guide him? Has such a fool ever played a leading role on the world stage? I think it is fair to say, no: not until now.” At HotAir, Allahpundit’s headline is, “ One could make a verrrry long list of President Obama’s ignorant statements and actions, and outright lies, apparently believing the MSM will continue to cover for and excuse him and the American people will continue to believe him. But, does that make him an “idiot”? In strict definition, “idiot” is an outmoded term for someone so mentally retarded that their mental development is less than a 3-year old’s, with an IQ of 25 or less, but connotes an “uneducated, ignorant, ill-informed person.” In more common usage, Merriam-Webster dictionary defines “idiot” as “a foolish or stupid person.” So, this jury holds that, yes, President Obama is an idiot, “a foolish or stupid person” who believes the American people are “uneducated, ignorant, ill-informed” idiots who can be gulled to believe in dangerous foolishness by he and his excusers. The education provided by President Obama, along with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, in their versions of liberal fixes to our health care, economy, and foreign policies has been a boon to Americans, as polls demonstrate, who are now well-informed about the idiocy of Obama-Reid-Pelosi and their apologists. More and more of the Americans who voted for Obama may have been "foolish and stupid", but are no longer. President Obama is, still, an idiot. A very dangerous one. P.S.: A professor friend at a leading university, who is learned in exegesis, just emailed me: "It's the kind of idiocy that only great arrogance and hubris can produce." So, maybe the strict definition, above, does apply to President Obama, acting like "less than a 3-year old"!

Well, he might not be an actual idiot- but a delusional, self-absorbed hubris like Obama's can sure keep a guy from seeing the errors of his ways... and from learning anything, even as the mistakes pile up. We're certainly seeing a bit of that lately-
Add to that his political path being smoothed for him in Chicago, the Machine suppressed his opponents, and so many have been kissing his rear-end for years... HOW do you learn anything having it all handed to you? Have you ever worked for a company founded by a clever entrepreneur... then the spoiled, inexperienced, and pompous son takes over? Obama is also surrounded by obsequious yes-men... makes you dumber by the minute. Same with Michelle, reportedly... explains the clown-wear wardrobe, LOL No, not an idiot- but a self-absorbed twit who has learned no hard lessons in life... because he's been a smiling, insincere token/quota boy his whole life. I do not think he is an idiot. I think he is one of the most insecure young man I have ever seen in public office. This will lead to huge unwanted consequences as he over reacts to situations through his tenure. I am afraid of what is to come.
I wonder if a single one of his professors, teachers or tutors looks with pride on this towering pile of total and complete ignorance who seems to have learned just thing in his lie, how to manipulate people.
Oh, I'm sure they are all very proud of him. Watch the movie "Obama's 2016". It's eye-opening.
I paraphrase:
"Obama is an idiot!" - John Hinderaker, Powerline "Obama is an idiot!" - Allahpundit, Hot Air "Obama is an idiot!" - Bruce Kesler, Maggie's Farm "Bush is an idiot!" - Markos Moulitsas, DailyKos "Bush is an idiot!" - Jerome Armstrong, MyDD "Bush is an idiot!" - David Brock, MediaMatters Birds of a feather flock together. In my engineering career I've seen this more than once. A resume appears on your desk, the applicant looks to be exactly what you want, you bring the applicant in for an interview and you are sold on the package presented. A little vetting because you've been sold already. And when the package arrives, it's crushed and ground under the wheel of incompetance and inability to parse the simplest problem.
It's elementry exegesis on your part. WHOO HOO!! I used exegesis in a sentence!! Hmmm - now that I think about it, did you write this in shaggy dog form just to use exegesis? :>) Ok - being serious for a second, President Obama clearly has had Lady Luck on his side for a while now. However, Lady Luck favors those who work towards setting up the conditions for her to work her magic. He clearly has not worked to set those conditions up and is now paying for it. President Obama had the opportunit to truly be a transformative President and over reached - just like any other gambler who stretches his good fortune. And we're all going to pay for his hubris. It is interesting that Michelle did not bow to the Queen, who has the same status in the UK as does the King of Saudi Arabia and the Japanese Emperor in their countries.
I would not like to think Obama is an idiot for one reason. If he is, that means the people who voted for him, are too. It sends chills down my spine to think a little over half the population in this country are idiots. God help us.
Well, if he isn't an idiot, and we give him the benefit of the doubt, I think our future is more than just a little grim.
Because if what he's doing aren't errors, and are in fact deliberate courses of action, we've elected a national kamikaze pilot to steer our nation. Seems like he was bankrolled by folks just plotting to profit from economic disaster. This is, I fear, the natural consequence of a whole segment of voters who feel they have to cast their ballots for someone who is "educated" and has their card appropriately punched by the elites. We get someone who couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel. Any folks have interesting ideas on how to brace for the coming train wreck? Perhaps impeachment, or at least the threat, will be an option to check Obama in 2011? If that isn't motivation enough to re-take Congress, I don't know what is.
It's time for the constitutional checks and balances to come into play- it is situations like this that the authors had in mind in responding to the tyranny of George III and His Majesty's Government in London. Re-read the Declaration and see who acts like a latter day George III- and it ain't Bush. Obama's idiocy, his tyranny, or whatever it is, need not be suffered but we need to be sure we first deal ourselves the strong hand. "Check", if not "checkmate", could be established with a de facto co-gov't of Obama and a GOP Congress for Obama's final two years. Then Hillary gets her shot at it again. He is certainly one of the more close-minded and incurious people I've ever observed. Information that does not fit his social-economic view is simply ignored while he plows ahead with socialism by the numbers. Opinions not originating from his own great mind or like-thinkers are not worthy of consideration.
There must be a medical term for that level of egotism and arrogance. There is a term. It's called Narcissism.
Medically its called NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) NJSoldier ... "close-minded and incurious." Classic description of a 'malignant narcissist,' is the medical term. Or it ought to be. What doesn't benefit him, praise him or enhance him in others' eyes, doesn't exist.
It's going to get worse, I'm afraid. Meanwhile, prosperity goes down the tubes and essential freedoms are snatched away on a whim. Marianne most insecure young man
Isn't he almost 50 years old? Not that I'm disagreeing about his immaturity but he's no kid. He is a manchild.
50 years old with the social skills of a teenager. Any man who writes not one but two autobiographies by the time he is in his forties has too much time on his hands and too obsessive a focus on himself. If he had been achieving something substantial he wouldn't have had the time. And other folks could, and would, have done the back-patting for him.
Marianne When you receive a soul off a plate,so to say,it has factional difficulties every step of the way in its progression to maturity, and in my office a soul is not even mature at all until it has attained the physicality age of 50 years.
The steps up to that 50 year point from the influences of its missionn folks in hyperdimension drive that person to the personality and opinionations that are manifest'' Mr. Obama's soul came from a specific mission that we(At our office) are well aware of his in-abilities and abilities. Even though you may think I am just some kook,I assure you I am the Hyperdimensional Physics Doctorate on the planet with certain system information that your peers do not ever inhabit in their process. Mr. Obama is mis-informed for a reason, Mr. Bush had the same problems as have each and every president here in this country. Certain powers that be run this place to death and missioning against the personality that is suited up at the time has not fixed anything at all ,now has it? Missioning in that vein has never produced any positive results, only understanding the full field at play will ever have any function. Its a sad,sad time for the inhabitants on earth at this time, and a little time will show what has been at play. I like the guy myself, but naiive he is,but so are you and doing something positive to negate the process of complete depletion of our society has not even been attempted as you folks are still in the provided loop and the reactions I have read here completely speak to the abilities of the spokes-folks to be intelligent enough to contemplate and assimilate ALL necessary componentry before releasing their voice. We are under siege, and the faction providing the siege is very experienced at protocoling mis-information. So buyer beware of the lashing out at anyone,as the process of Hegelian Dialectics will have you in further chains and more chains. |
