We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

"Whoops - not the apocalypse." Never mind.

Re Liberal self-censorship, Am. Thinker begins:



When the BBC finally ‘fessed up last week to the Global Warming Fraud  -- without admitting how much they aided and abetted the scam over ten years or more --  a liberal gent I know was shocked. He had sort of gritted his teeth and tolerated my skepticism over the years, but he never wanted to judge the whole fraudulent business for himself, although he had plenty of qualifications to do so. But this fraud was obvious. You had to want to close your eyes not to see it. I say that with all appreciation to the scientists and bloggers like Anthony Watt, who doggedly did the hard work of double-checking the fraud.



And via the WSJ re “Whoops apocalypse,” or perhaps it’s a case of “whoops not the apocalypse.”

Evidently, we are in for another cold cold winter -- either the fourth or the fifth in a row. So why the heck do we need the cap&tax-tax-tax bill? WE all know why. So that the Liberals can institute another economy-busting tax and get control over the energy sector of our economy. Obama stated in his campaign speeches that he was going to "bankrupt the coal industry." According to current statistics, more than half of our electrical generating plants are powered by coal. So I guess he is planning that we will "freeze in the dark" this winter. And with all the record low temperatures up North, after a cold summer, that doesn't look good, does it?

Another master plan by the Liberals revealed. It's just one thrilling thing after another. At least we won't be bored while we're freezing.

Well because as we all know, green house gasses does not apparently cause AGN, but rather AGC or both depending on what can be sold at the moment. So we must tax and destroy energy, wealth, production, etc.
