We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
You have to add the sounds yourself: A Red-Tail keering overhead, the rustling leaves, flocks of Blue Jays squawking through the woods, the Chickadee calling from some pine tree, the lowing of distant cattle, the cheerful buzz of a chainsaw back in the woods, and a barking dog or two.
Very nice imagery. How about some good fall recipes being posted soon? Its one of my favorite features (do I have those) here. In fact, if I cook a Maggie's dish, the family raves. I havebeen in the mood for apple pie of late.
Keep up all the good work, still a great go to site for some brain exercise, nuggets of good information, and some R&R during the work day between projects.
If that is a recent picture then I envy your weather. Here in Nebraska it has been cold, misty, gray and gloomy for what seems like two weeks. Indeed, Drudge has a link this a.m. reporting it has been the coldest month in recorded history.
Apple Pies - Get yerself some Northern Spies (East Coast Specific, but can be found in a few places west of the ol Miss.).
Best Baking Apple you can find.
Bird - Those your bikes? That picture makes me pine for the old Homestead in W.Oneonta.
Thanks for the all the work you share with the rest of us. Yours is a life wothy of eny...
