We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The pleasant village of Eze (tomorrow's photos) lies right between Nice and the strange, elegant, tax-dodging and mega-yacht haven of Monaco which, as I understand it, is supported by gambling. No taxes. I never went to the Casino. Not my cuppa tea. Not a Yankee sort of thing - except as a rare goof.
A few of my random shots of Monaco and Monte Carlo below -
Early morning, off Monte Carlo. Nice boat: you can rent her for $50,000 US per day -
More boats in the harbor:
Just like Nantucket harbor in August:
A random shot of Monte Carlo. The nation (actually, Principality) of Monaco is the size of NY's Central Park.
A view of Monte Carlo from our craft anchored offshore:
These pictures of your trip are just lovely and bring back memories of chaperoning a trip that some local youngsters took a few years ago. I would love to go back and enjoy it again. Your posts are inspiring!
