Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Travel

If you don't have unlimited funds and if you are not the sort of experienced traveller who likes to do everything yourself, your own way, check out our friends at Club ABC before the summer is over.


As you can imagine, times are tough in the travel biz but that means that there are still ways to go someplace interesting without breaking the bank. The prices are better than they should be.


The folks at ABC have been generous to Ducks Unlimited. Enuf said.

As my traveling has always been of the speak the language -cheap hotels ($5 max) -stay with locals I've known for years -backpacking type , ABC is not for me.

I will forward their website on to those who would be more likely to use their services.

When they retired, my brother's in-laws did a lot of tour-assisted Third World traveling. Picking up some bug from canoeing on the Mekong River didn't stop them at all. Adventuresome old geezers, they were.
