Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

I think that teabagging refers to obnoxious leftist mosochists, e.g., Sullivan, Matthews Olbermann, et al, who get stimulated when punched in the eye, and then require a wet tea bag to bring down the swelling.
I think it would be a wonderful service if you could get Dr. Joy to address the subject of "phenomenology" in today's culture. I know there are several organized groups on campuses, who are absolutely adamant that this is the only way to plan for our future as a nation. Kind of scary actually. It might be nice to hear from the good Dr. an explanation.
Why do you think it is necessary to stop at 100% taxation. At 125% you could pillage property and principal and whittle them down to poor inside of ten years.
Think of it as stealth communism. The left and Islam are friends because they are both anti traditional America. I can't figure out why the left embraces Islam so much, though, because there's no way Islam would ever embrace abortion, homosexuality, or gay rights, much less gay marriage.
You can find a definition of 'teabagging,' a noxious homosexual practice, if you Google it. Barfing afterwards is your choice. I did.
As far as the global warming scam goes, when my butcher and my grocery clerk are scornful, I can conclude that the American public is finally paying attention. Gwynnie's post of last week on the huge increase in global cooling and snow in the past nine years is also an eye-opener. This is just another effort on the part of the liberals to cement the American public's dependence on their government. It is to be hoped that the cap and trade bill will be defeated, for now, and that when some Democrat brings it up, say next year, the Republicans will join together and defeat it. Marianne And also, about Obama's "civilian national security force" ... nightmares of the German run-up to the Second World War leap to my mind -- the Hitler Jugend, the Nazi brownshirts. Coming soon to a neighborhood near you, if the Obamans have their way.
We certainly will have lots of political points to make in 2010 and 2012. The important point is to make them verbally and in writing and make them early and often Repetition is the key, as any public relations exec will tell you. Or even Dr. Goebbels, a very successful propagandist. Bush never learned this lesson and it drove me crazy. You can't "rise above" this crap. You've got to contend against it every chance you get, and keep on repeating. It's like the CO2 thing. Environmentalists are rushing around trying to save the planet from CO2. And each little environmentalist is a little CO2 generator all on his own. So stop breathing, everyone. Every time you breathe out you breathe out CO2. You need to stop that. Or else you're just another fake. Marianne Do you suppose some of the AGW skepticism has anything to do with Obambi cranking up the thermostat in the Oval Office shortly after moving in? I recall one of the WH staff commenting "you could grow orchids in there"...
So many Democrats are coming up crooked in the venal way that it's easy to get confused about the politics: Are these people Mob, or Red? --many wonder in the backs of their minds.
Here's a clue: Stalin and his crew were Mob before the Reds took power --i mean, they were literally bank robbers, kidnappers, extortionists, armed robbers, et cetera. Don't believe me, look it up fo yo sef. http://pajamasmedia.com/instapundit/76988/
Maybe EPA can look at this, after it's thru with Cap n Trade manipulating. Meanwhile, please search [estrogen st lawrence]. Came upon the above one night, wondering why Cheerios was using such manly women and womenly men in their tv ads. Turns out, General Mills foundations members hobnob with none other than George Soros (even going on at least one Caribbean cruise of his sponsorship). Cheerios is in every elementary school --national food distribution, genetic modifications, all that tin hat stuff, is today being treated seriously on instapundit. Soros is just the type to see American men as too aggressive --for his purposes that is --whatever in the depths of hell those are. In the meantime, advise paying attention to the nationally-distributed packaged processed foods. If you've already lost your mind, as i have, you'll think "jeez, what a target --why would they pass THAT up?" AM Thinker indulges too much of the Black Helicopterism of the Clinton 90s. The policies are bad enough (mandatory "volunteering", nationalized healthcare, etc) they should be opposed on their face. There is no need to assign sinister motives to their pushers.
Attacking the hidden (and presumed) motivations is a dumb strategy because most people who are in favor of bigger government sincerely think they are helping. Telling them that Obama talks like they talk but secretly wants to enslave them does not drive a wedge between them and Obama - it drives a wedge between them and the accuser. I think most folks are not thinking in terms of strategy, or 'how to' manipulate the center. What's happening is much more basic and far less 'political' and/or artificial, imho.
IOW, there's no need to size up a listener and tailor a presentation --just tell the plain truth, and do it often. Then let the chips fall where they may. Imho, of course. Bingo, JD. Not only drives a wedge between them and the accuser, but more dangerously creates a bunker mentality on the other side causing them to seek protection from the accuser. Not sure you will find much vocal agreement on that point, however. The black helicopters are a frequent sighting in these parts.
I keep searching in earnest for something real and honest about Obama, and all I can come up with is his adherence to the Cloward-Piven_Strategy.
Maggiesfarmers ...
I know this is off-topic, but I just checked steynonline, and Mark Steyn tells of a story he found in the Moscow Times about Olga the Russian hairdresser. It seems that a thief entered a hairdressing salon in Moscow about 5 p.m. and told all the patrons and staff to drop to the floor, get out their wallets and give him all their money. [He had a gun.] One hairdresser, a slight woman, seemed to be having trouble with her wallet so he went over to her. Whenh he came close, she punched him in the gut and then rabbit-punched him, grabbed a hand hairdryer and wrapped the cord around his neck and dragged him into a back room. She shackled him to the radiator, dosed him with Viagra, and had her way with him, rrrepeatedly, for the next 48 hours before she released him. Whereupon he had to go to the hospital because of damage to his,er, equipment. I'm so tempted to believe this story. But it really sounds unbelievable. Every man's dream -- and nightmare at the same time. What do you all think? Marianne First became aware of the discrimination on campus against VietNam veterans in 1984. That was the year the budding young fem/nazi movement tried to end the veterans preference in federal funding. That meant that any public school that received federal funds would not be required to give vets an extra point or two of credit in qualifying for a job. The gals were determined to keep any vet, in particular "in country" vets out of the classroom. And, they sure in the hell were not going to let them get any advantage in the hiring process. Finally, in 1988 got the Veterans employment act passed. HOWEVER, I dare any one reading this to search their local public university and tell me how many "in country" vets are in teaching positions. I know one federally funded university that stood before a state legislature and swore up and down that any/ and all/every vet that had ever interviewed for a job had a drug habit. That was outrageous to my mind because the gals (and their obedient castratos) were of the 60's generation. You know the ones with kinky curly hair, birkenstock sandals, a ph.d, and a passion for marijuana! You remember that crowd don't you: the ones who stayed home to get their education while others fought for their freedom. Yup--same bunch 20 years later trying to convince the legislature that every man returning from Viet Nam had a worse drug habit than they themselves did. It was ok. They could stand there and lie between their teeth like that because guess what? THEY HAD TENURE!
Basic common denomiator of the Left and Islam is hatred of Holy God.
Amongst the the most beatiful words in the world to HusseinO's ears is the Shahada, which is premised with "there is no God." |
