Where exactly is this going on? Has anyone had direct or even a second-hand story about actual contact with these alien creatures?

Well, keep an eye out for them. For some reason thinking about the prospect of having these zombies show up at my door reminds me of an experience I had a dozen years (or so) ago while working in Tokyo. The wife and I had gone to a jazz club that was nearly full. We were shown to a table for 4. Shortly thereafter a Japanese couple about our age were then seated at our table. Before being seated, I the gentleman was noticeably not happy with the host/waiter/whatever about having to sit with a couple of "gaijin" (much to the embarrassment of his lady friend). I wouldn't go so far as to say I was "offended", but his attitude did get under my skin a bit. After all, it was entirely possible that his dad was one of the SOB's who shot at my dad. In my old man's honor, I thought it was payback time. Though it being a polite environment, my options were limited. Then it hit me. I'll buy the sunuvubitch a drink. Yeah, I could just feel that whiskey burning its way down his throat. I called the waiter over and told him to bring the couple whatever they wanted. I can still see the confusion on the guy's face when the waiter told him of my offer. And his lady friend could barely contain her laughter. Long story short, he and his lady knew enough English that we had an enjoyable conversation. They were engaged and were planning a honeymoon in Jamaica (where we had somewhat recently been). Can't remember what it was but I do recall giving them slightly less than optimal advice on Jamaica. Oh the shame...only because his fiance was a nice person...wth my point is, I'm not sure as the Belvedere is having it's intended effect...Kill 'em with kindness, maybe?
