We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
A lot of art I look at and go "Huh?". I wonder what the artist was trying to say other than the pills s/he took this morning were waaaay mind bending. Maybe its like a joke. If you (the artist, interpreter) has to explain it, it just ain't funny.
For me it is Paul Klee. The American/Jewish community has been overly destructive of this artist in their claim that he was anti-Semitic. However, his work shows a gentle love for the human soul and spirit--it also shows an ability to keep a small little smile going during the worst of times.
