We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
People are not buying luxuries these days, so such things are becoming quite inexpensive. I used to like beautiful antique rugs, but now I prefer attractive rugs that I don't mind walking on with boots, or the dog scratching at. I know we have some readers who might be offended, but these non-fancy runners I found on eBay (mostly roughtly 3'8''-4'x10') looked good to me. And cheap enough to tramp on with shoes, or for the dog to roll on.
(I know our rug expert readers will find fault, but these are hand-knotted 100 KPSI not-new Iranian rugs.)
They're beautiful and make you happy. I wish they were mine.
Furthermore, the design is very good, these are far closer to fine art that kitsch. Please keep posting the rugs from time to time, I love them.
I have friends and family who love the work of a popular mass-marketed artist who has a thing about light and Victorian scenes. The stuff makes me cringe and I have to nod mutely when they tell me how beautiful the "paintings" are. But they make them happy and bring harmony to their lives, who can complain about that? (They don't understand or like the things that I collect, either.)
