Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

What if?

Over the transom:



What if a Republican president submitted for cabinet confirmation ...

 

1. A Treasury Secretary with supervisory powers over the IRS who failed to report and pay taxes on over $100,000 in personal income?

2. A Commerce Secretary who had to withdraw because of an investigation into "pay to play" allegations in the state where he sits as governor?

3. A Secretary of Transportation revealed to be the king of earmarks while in Congress?

4. A Secretary of State whose husband is an international free-booter collecting millions from many of the very countries and leaders with whom his wife must deal in representing vital U.S. interests?

5. An Attorney General who failed to blow the whistle upon one the most infamous pardons ever granted by a sitting President?

6. A Solicitor General who has never argued a case before the U.S. Supreme Court?

7. A Secretary of Labor who refuses to reveal her positions on issues vital to the American business community?

9. A television personality with no public experience whatsoever for Surgeon General?

10. A long-time Congressman and former White House Chief of Staff to head the Central Intelligence Agency?

That's a relief. I thought I heard he had appointed a former White House chef to head the CIA.

You might call this the "confetti" strategy. Excuse any lack of technical expertise here, but one way for planes to avoid anti-aircraft missiles is to discharge metal fragments called confetti to confuse the radar. With so much political "confetti" in the air it confuses and distracts the opposition and, well, we all know what side the MSM is on anyway. Nothing appeared on their radar screens before the election so it'll take a major event for them to notice now.

1, 4, 5, 7, and 9 (at least) would wind up withdrawing due to shrieking from the media (and Democrats). The wailing and gnashing of teeth would be deafening.

I have moved past outrage to apathy regarding dem corruption. It is just the way it is. It will always be this way and there is nothing we can do about it. Shrug. All we can do is devise strategies to protect our private lifestyles as much as possible under the New Order.

My household has decided to become ReRepublicans.

ReRepublicans are people who vow to vote against all Republican incumbents in primaries and replace them with persons of conscience and competence.
