Speaking of the lies we tell ourselves:

If you concentrate you can see the end of your nose if you're looking straight ahead, but if you don't think about it it's invisible. Our minds were built to bend light with the gravity of concentration so we won't see what's right in front of our face. It's all about how hard you're looking at something; it's about faith and evolution I think.

You know, somehow I think it matters that in the bible I remember reading something about how if you see the face of God your head will explode. That and the heart being deceitful above all things. Is it a coincidence that one sense of the word "explode" used as a transitive verb means to debunk or discredit? I like to think if you blow-up a cherished belief your head will real a little, but if you jump on the detonator of all of the minds happy little lies the combined explosive power will devestate your melon. So you take out little bits of misconceptions a piece at a time and be cheered by your progress, because God's radiance cannot be bent by the human mind and I suspect standing at the precipice of finitude before the face of the almighty sucks.

As for lying to other people, well, I'm liking Dr. Bliss' smack-down.

Hoo-haa! I just heard a thump in the basement and I took that ugly pea-shooter out for a house clearing exercise!

The photo-representation of Dr.Bliss we've been given makes my palms sweat, but it's her mind damnit--her mind! (I ain't lyin').
