We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Indiana has only two closed fishing seasons, for trout and Ohio River paddlefish. Legally, closed seasons (fishing and hunting) apply to private land as well as public, but I have never heard of anybody being prosecuted for shooting deer on his own property out of season, or fishing trout in his own property out of season. It's hard to imagine that it would ever happen.
You're very welcome -- i have a few of his books, and seeing the photo remembered the colors, eye-angle, and overall feel was similar to the painting. From there it was just a search on [ winslow homer watercolors ] under google's 'images' tag, and a scroll thru to find the painting in a large-file jpg -- i think it was on the third or fourth page-view -- then copy/paste the URL into the comment box --
