We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
War drums are sounding, too much happening to ignore it all. There are three planes to be feared today:
The B-52, yes that old plane is still important if you are fighting in WW III and a B-52 flies over your life expectancy will be seconds.
The A-10. Another old plane but extremely good at it's job. A tank killer and deadly for any piece of ground equipment.
The F-35. This just might be the most scary fighter plane ever made. It has it's detractors but funny every goddamned piece of military equipment ever made has had it's detractors, even the A-10. Watch the F-35 in the future it is a bit of a sleeper. Until it is actually used in war you won't see it's full capability. It will make you question it's detractors.
I have to add the F-15. The fighter pilot's fighter plane. It was designed by Air Force fighter pilots to give them what they wanted from a fighter plane. They would often say that climbing into the F-15 was like putting on your work clothes; you "wore it" and controlled it's every move. A great plane, still a great plane. But unlike the A-10 which was never replaced on the battlefield the F-15 has been replaced. The technology passed it by. It's still good, it will be used until they fall apart but it's no F-35.
