We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
...and isn't it amazing how thousands of Haitians, from one of the poorest, most chaotic countries in the western hemisphere, have found the funds to finance their trip to the US, via Central America? Isn't it compelling, hmmm? Who's curious about where these impoverished pilgrims found the funding to underwrite these family migrations, who is organizing this well-worn, complicated, high-capacity pathway to our southern border? I don't hear any Republicans demanding to know, unless you count Jiminey Cricket and maybe Ted Cruz.
I'm frankly surprised the rising crab prices aren't blamed on the shortage of crab due to global warming. Maybe because we're talking about food and enough people are aware of the rising cost of beef and pork and chicken as well and would have a hard time swallowing that chickens and cows and pigs are in any danger of going extinct due to global warming as well.
The death was when the Supremes rejected the appeal by the states to allowing the massive voter fraud. If there was ever a case that they should have taken that was it. I don't think the court will ever recover from that fatal mistake and I don't think our democracy will either.
