We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

They will miss Trump, yes. While some will find it entirely satisfactory to focus on great swaths of the American population for their hatred, most will need a single focus, supplemented by an occasional Brett Kavanaugh to completely lose their minds over.
You would think they would get over the drama of it all and go find some actual life to get involved with, but this seems beyond them. I do understand that these are well in the minority of liberals...but still too many.
Re: Leftists Are Colonizing Red Towns Like Mine ...
Funny thing about colonists: they have a high tendency to become assimilated. Most of them left where they were because they couldn't live with the consequences of their politics. This offers a double opportunity not only to teach them, but to build support to replace the clueless Republicans with the committed variety.
The all out assault on conservatives began three decades ago. Most were either unaware or in deep denial, i.e. clueless. Who's in for the long haul? Make a friend, be a friend ...
So Trump's going to declassify documents, eh? A foot high, wow. One wonders what impulses have been keeping this from happening for the past 4 years. I'll look to read through them right after I tune in to all the indictments from Mr. Durham's investigations, which I am reliably informed are really starting to heat up.
Jordan Peterson mentions in one of his videos or in his 12 rules for Life book that these people tend not to like their own lives so they take up some far away thing to distract them from looking at themselves.
America’s New Corporate Tyranny - The American political and legal systems are working just fine, despite a few hiccups.
In what alternate Universe is the "legal system working just fine"???
It's so obvious there is a two-tired system, doubled down with imperial discretion, that allowsobvous criminals like Clinton, Obama, Comey and their ilk to not only flout the law, but profit immensely form their illegal actions.
The fact that Bird Dog can walk into his local judge's chambers with his colleagues, share war stories and cut deals for their clients, is not a display of "legal system working just fine!"
Re: Conservative Thought
Conservatives have long been at a disadvantage, because of the fact that Marxists have specific goals; while conservatives do not. So if we want America to remain a free country, then we need to develop standards of conduct which are good for the kids. At the same time, we need to articulate a new conservative position.
Sally Fields made a movie called "Maybe I'll come Home in the Spring". It's the story of a girl who wanted lots of sex and excitement. But then she found out that she had ruined her reputation, so she went back home. But the damage had already been done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Wec_okUJKU
Right now, millions of girls in America are in the process of ruining their lives, at the behest of feminist agents. They too will try to go home, and they will find out that once a girl becomes a whore, she can't go back. So the key is finding a way to make sure that those girls don't ruin their lives in the first place. That means removing all media which is a bad influence. And turning-off the cell phones.
" Harvard Students Petition For Trump-Allied Graduates To Lose Degrees" Hmmm. . . sounds familiar. Oh, yeah -- Lisa Meitner call your office -- "Completing her doctoral research in 1905, Meitner became the first woman from the University of Vienna and second in the world to earn a doctorate in physics. She spent most of her scientific career in Berlin, Germany, where she was a physics professor and a department head at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute; she was the first woman to become a full professor of physics in Germany. She lost these positions in the 1930s because of the anti-Jewish Nuremberg Laws of Nazi Germany. . ." Wikipedia

Mozilla CEO Says Deplatforming President Trump Isn't Enough.
He's just giving me an additional reason for my switch from Firefox to Brave last year. (I changed once I figured out how to transfer bookmarks.)
Conservatives have always had the specific goal of limited government. Granted, limited government is not a catchy phrase that gets people riled up to go vote, but it is our specific goal.
Leftists: We need Glenn Reynolds Welcome Wagon idea on the ground everywhere.
Shooting, homicide surge came after ‘reforms’ NY’s leaders said would cut crime : Can NY do ANYTHING RIGHT????

Teach kids how to study, how to learn and reduce/remove their dependency on teachers, indoctrinating or not. Teachers were of great value when knowledge was hoarded, interacting with the learned was hard, and books were rare. This is not the 14th century.
Get it at amazon where the Kindle version is free or get it elsewhere online:
How to Study and Teaching How to Study (1909) by F. M. McMurry, Professor of Elementary Education, Teachers College, Columbia University
It is, perhaps, unnecessary to collect proofs that young people do not learn how to study, because teachers admit the fact very generally. Indeed, it is one of the common subjects of complaint among teachers in the elementary school, in the high school, and in the college. All along the line teachers condole with one another over this evil, college professors placing blame on the instructors in the high school, and the latter passing it down to teachers in the elementary school. Parents who supervise their children's studies, or who otherwise know about their habits of work, observe the same fact with sorrow. It is at least refreshing to find one matter, in the much-disputed field of education, on which teachers and parents are well agreed.
Or go with the fantasy of 'transmissionism'. They've a nice word for it, but modern "educators" have no incentive to free paying students from their dependency.
Andy Matuschak: Yeah. Especially months later. Lectures are maybe an easier thing to attack. I think we kind of have an intuition that, 'Oh, you attend a lecture,' and you might say something like, 'Oh, that was interesting.' Or 'that was helpful.' And then: Did it actually help you understand the material? Well, maybe, if after the lecture you did a whole bunch of stuff: You did some problems that suited some projects. But, if you just listen to the lecture, you probably don't walk away with all that much, except perhaps excitement, emotion, things like that. And that's because lectures, like books--as I was describing before--are sort of founded on this transmissionism notion: the notion is that 'I as the teacher can get up there and say a bunch of words; then you'll know stuff.'--Econtalk interview 2019
Do this and what the NYC school system does is strictly a childcare issue.
The All-Out Assault on Conservative Thought Has Just Begun: Ah, the SPLC's map! The SPLC sent me a request for money, and I returned it saying that I found THEM a hate group.
Duke profs suggest Biden pursue 'new laws' to combat 'misinformation': I'm ALL for that! Biden's fullllll of misinformation; he'll have to stop!
Four more days to prepare. There is something very wrong with what we see in DC. Call it intuition or spidey senses or whatever but doesn't it bother you that there are now 30,000 national guard in DC. What in hell are they planning that they need 30,000 M16 toting troops for? One theory is that they are going to stage some massive false flag attack and use it as a pretext to bring martial law. Others are predicting some form of "the Boston Massacre" where they shoot into a crowd of dissenters killing hundreds of them. I don't know about any of that but seriously 30,000 troops in the Capitol! Seriously! WTF is going on.
Do you have a months worth of food and a way to cook it if electricity was shut off? Do you have a safe place to hide? to "bug out to" if they use their Brown shirt goons to attack you? What are you going to do if all hell breaks lose?
ANd think about this, isn't 30,000 national guard troops sleeping on the floors and in office building a threat from Covid-19? What brain trust though this up?
"And, as a lawyer, I really hate to say this, but it’s now wildly apparent you can’t trust our legal system on anything even remotely political either. Don’t expect sanity from that quarter." - Robert Shibley (Robert Shibley is FIRE’s executive director. A native of Toledo, Ohio, and a graduate of Duke University and Duke University School of Law),
Leftist colonizing red areas? That's just the closet Biden types taking off the masks - lots of them on this board - phonies pretending to have standards.. It is not a trend.
Harvard should expel any current students making these kinds of demands. It's indicative of their closed-minded intolerance, which should disqualify them from attending an institute of higher learning.
Perhaps. However, marxist liberalism is a humanist cult that ends up running governments (because that's worship for them) . Not easy to help people escape from it.
But wait! It gets weirder. The postal service is going to remove postal boxes from the streets and suspend mail pickup in advance of the "inauguration". What is next in this fresh hell called the "Biden presidency"?
How many national guard troops does it take to "install" a "stump turtle" into the presidency?
