We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
In a rare public order issued Tuesday, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court condemned the FBI for the errors and omissions in its application to surveil Trump-campaign adviser Carter Page and gave the bureau until January 10th to propose reforms to prevent future abuses.
Maybe falsifying evidence would be a start. Wait, isn't that already illegal? What about requiring all the evidence including exculpatory evidence? Or not lying on the FISA application? On second thought, putting people in jail should be the first step.
1) just for context, I am a retired Peace Officer [28 years]
2) "Dirty cops, not all of them for sure but maybe just some at the top."
The FBI has been crooked for generations. They are the only LEA that is allowed to submit summaries by their agents of interrogations instead of transcripts [these are called Form 302's] and have them taken as evidence without question or confirmation or confirmation. In all the scandals they have had, never has an FBI agent turned state's evidence, and in the current attempted coup, none have. I'm betting all of them.
Unless and until the agents responsible for these lies are hauled into court and properly prosecuted, this is only window dressing. The deep state protects its own. And - over the Obama years - too many American instutitions have become policitized as well as deeply corrupted.
Don't forget OK City either. Something very strange happened there and the FBI seemed to be in a big rush to put an end to any investigation. They even threatened the governor and a congressman when they dared speak up about it. The entire incident stinks of coverup.
I can't believe the FISA Court did not suspect there wasn't something devious in wire tapping a Presidential candidate during an election. I can't believe they didn't think that the intelligence gained would not get passed to the opposition political party to use against their adversary to derail his campaign.
Corruption at the FBI is nothing new. Read Hoffa’s Shadow to see what Robert Kennedy and the FBI did to “the Irishman” Chuckie O’Brian. Great quote from Robert Jackson - Supreme Court Justice and Nuremberg judge.
