We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
There's an old saying that every budget is a political document.
What should also be said is that every algorithm is also a political document. In reality, an algorithm is nothing but a flowchart. It contains (for example) and/or gates which represent logic. Here's an example:
Are you hungry? [eat] or [not eat]
If "yes" then [eat]. If "no" then [not eat].
That's an algorithm.
The problem with "Dataism" is that it claims to have new and special insight into the world of man through the use of flowcharts. But they never mention that algorithms are unreadable except by machine, while flowcharts can be read by anyone; and further, can be recognized for what they really are: political documents.
This is how corporations, with the complicit approval of our corrupt government, plan to force behavioral compliance onto millions of people. The first part of the plan, of course, is to cause people to believe that flow charts are alive, and therefore have moral authority. After all, who can argue with artificial intelligence? (And no, you can't see the flowcharts.)
The first assault on the public is going to come in the form of "prescribed" food and exercise. Of course, Doctors have been prescribing food and exercise for thousands of years, starting with Hippocrates, who led an entire generation of Doctors to achieve a mastery of dietetics. But private corporations, who have filed patent applications based on Hippocrates work, don't want people to know this. In truth, all those algorithm patents, dietetic patents, and exercise patents are worthless; because there is too much prior art. Flow charts and diet programs have been around for an awfully long time.
In the future, it won't be enough to simply avoid losing one's personal freedom to bots and flowcharts. These systems, and the patents that they represent, will need to be invalidated once and for all.
