We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
A few tricks to raise pushup intensity and effectiveness, and lower the reps:
- lower yourself on a count of 5 instead of full speed, - or hold at the bottom to a count of 5, - or go to bottom, then halfway up, then down again, then full up
Mix and match. It's much harder. After a while, people can just crank out regular pushups without a sweat. This applies to gals also. We advise not doing 50 of these modified pushups daily, however. Every other day, at most.
You can also go completely to the floor, resting your chest on the floor, lift your hands off the floor, then place your hands down again and go back up. This is one way to slow it down plus to make sure you are doing a full range push up.
