We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
after the 2012 election (and even more after the 2014)the republicans decided and declared that they had to be more like the dems in order to get elected. Trump is the ONLY candidate different from the cowering pack of would-be dems on stage with him. And that is a sad and devastating statement.
As for sanders? The idiots running this country into the ground have made a huge society of needy, hopeless voters who agree with the piratical ideas of socialists/democrats.....rob the money makers.
The talking heads want you to believe that the reason for Trumps popularity is that he is an outsider. But the reason somany people are backing Trump is because he opposes illegal immigration. But the politicians would prefer to not talk about illegalimmigration so they will say anything to avoid that subject. The Repubican annointed candidate wants to have open borders and he cannot understand why his poll numbers are so low. It must be because his name is Bush, right?
DO the conservatives want to "kill" the Republican party? I don't think so. The Republican party wants to marginalize the conservatives and the conservatives are unwilling to go gently into that good night. The conservatives were the force behind the Republican big gains in 2012 and 2014 not the ilegal aliens and not Jeb Bush. But the GOPe wants to throw the conservatives under the bus. This strategy will backfire on the GOPe.
Will the conservative vote cause the Republicans to lose what should be an easy presidential run? I honestly think that will be the result. I cannot vote for Jeb. I will vote for the other guy instead. I am simply tired of having "my guy" stab me in the back.
What Krauthammer and O'Reilly both miss is that the GOP has continually lied to its base, promising to stop illegal immigration, stop 0bama's agenda, repeal 0bamacare, cut spending, and once elected doing none of the above.
Krauthammer is wrong. It is not anxiety. It is outrage.
Republicans made numerous promises as to what they were going to do if the voters gave them control of Congress. The voters did. It turned out the Republicans totally lied, and are just as corrupt as the Democrats. I think the establishment Republicans are about to get a big wakeup call that the American people realize that both they and the Democrats have betrayed them.
