We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Boy Scouts of America bans water gun fights; ‘pointing a firearm’ is not kind
Water balloons are bombs, and water hoses are flame-throwers. Dangerous out there if you have a psychotic imagination. Life is more fun without psychosis.

The Lessons of the Syrian Chemical Weapons Discovery

Psychotic imaginations, AKA normal boyhood behavior. Though when I was a scout we learned gun safety, including guns aren't toys and earning marksman badges was more fun. Now what you could do with a bit of flowers of sulfur (chigger repellent y'know) and other camp site items...
Long story made short, the Left embraces Islam because the old "If he's for it, I'm agin it".
I suspect the Games of thrones viewership will not noticeably drop and wonder if this poutrage is a clever bit of marketing.
"Poutrage" is a great neologism, walt.
I concur that the Left refuses to condemn Islamic hatred of the US because they share the enmity. I would add that they project their own reasons onto others. Of course they hate us - because of colonialism, and lack of respect, and extraction of resources, and racism. That's why we hate that sort of American, too. The actual reasons go unnoticed.
"Why Does the Left Kowtow to Islam?"
Because the Left fears Islam. And with reason: you can actually get killed for insulting that religion.
"The Lessons of the Syrian Chemical Weapons Discovery"
This was discovered in late 2002. It was discovered that Saddam was moving the massive WMD equipment and materials to Syria. We didn't discover it last May we knew it, the media knew it, everyone watching the news in the late 90's and early 2000's knew it. We all saw truck loads of "something" being driven out the back gate of Saddam's WMD sites while the UN inspectors were waiting at the front door to inspect the facility. Everyone knew that Saddam had massive amounts of WMDs and raw materials. There was a never ending line of trucks from Iraq to Syria we all saw it on TV. By the time Germany, France, Russia and China stalled in the UN to prevent the US from entering Iraq Saddam was able to move most of his chemical weapons to Syria. Russia flew in cargo planes to remove Saddam's biological weapons that they had sold him. The remains of Saddam's nuclear program were discovered by coalition troops (remember the 550 tons of yellowcake and a massive underground nuclear bomb making facility?). Everyone knew about all of this and yet we still talk about the WMD's as though it was all faulty information and Bush made a mistake. Why? I don't know why but I suspect the diplomats made a deal with Russia, France and Germany for their cooperation they would receive "amnesty" for their complicity. So that's the story and everyone is sticking to it.
As with most other leftist dogma it also fueled by a large dose of ignorance. I am amazed at the number of people I meet that are absolutely certain the conflict started with the Crusades and have no clue about Islamic imperialism the prior 400 years. "Go Google the Battle of Tours" is my standard discussion ender.
Feminists don't want to be loggers because they don't want to, you know, actually work for a living.
I wish they would attempt it. they wouldn't last 5 minutes. You don't hear them pining for jobs in coal mines, on oil rigs or on garbage trucks, either. All heavy, physically demanding jobs.
related; My daughter, a classical "feminist" helped my brother clear his property of junk and diseased trees. Just asked for her own chainsaw.
Re: rent a mob
One would think with all the money George Soros has, that he would make sure that mob would be paid. What kind of insurrection are they running, anyway?
Isn't that just like a 1 percenter! Sitting back in luxury while screwing the hard working little guy!
I believe that is why the right kowtows (or squishy middle if you prefer) to Islam. I think the left sees them as an ally in their fight against the West. What they don't understand is that if they "win", they will be eaten by their "ally". It's similar to the rich who support the left. If they will, they will probably get eaten too.
It's a crying shame that we allowed the North to win that war. Another "victory" for the left (i.e. defeat for freedom).
Any idea how to contact the Boyscouts of America? I went to their website, but there was no contact link.
The US military won the Vietnam war; The democrats, the leftist media and leftist universities purposefully lost the war. The same is being repeated in Iraq. That is why I generally oppose US military involvement, The leftists will waste any victory.
The US Military did not win the war, they won most of the battles though.
Having served in the early 70's, though our good Uncle did not send me to SEA, I still am unable to understand why so many people keep saying that the US Military won the war. I think the Vietnamese would disagree.
At 18 I thought we should be there, at 62 I think we had no National Interest at stake and should not have taken over from the French. We should use our Military sparingly, and only when our National Interest is at risk, not "to make the world a better place." Not the responsibility or the job of the USA. If individuals want to do so, have at it.
