We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Nice voice, but a little over produced in my opinion. She seems to have a lot of depth, but that reverb is a bit too much for my taste.
Also weird to hear it in another language - still a great tune.
Roger de Hauteville's Older Brother Joe
In a strange bit of serendipity this song has a connection to an earlier post by Bruce. The same guy who wrote this song (there were co-credits to producers), Wayne Carson Thompson, also wrote "The Letter" done by the Box Tops.
First published in 1972 - sung by Elvis the Pelvis.
