Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Ohh, Alan, and so am I. Proud, that is. The lethally perky attitude in this masterpiece left me howling with laughter. We need more of this. I hope this junior genius who drafted this will take aim at our new government policies -- about health care, for instance, or expensive, useless anti-global warming rules. God knows, there are a huge number of worthy targets to aim at.
Marianne Who gets to shoot first? and what type of food will be served? I get real ugly , if I don't get fed.
Food, jappy? What food do they serve? Why ducks, of course. Preferably sitting.
Marianne What are the prices on other caliber ammo? I'm interested in some new 7.62 X 39 say 1,000 rounds and some nice S&W .40 cal. Would I find these things in the gift shop?
Does the cruise offer on shore entertainment such as going "pirate" on one of their bases? Nothing completes a cruise like torching a pirate base. I'm assuming this excursion would be extra. If they feed the passengers and crew large bean and cabbage rations daily then the pirates can be gassed on approaching!
I would love to go on such a cruise.
I have been wondering why merchant ships don't arm themselves. At least the CIA should charter a vessel and bait the pirates. A few counterattacks will discourage the pirates. arrrg matey shiver me timbers I would so go on this cruise.:)
People laugh because this is blatantly a joke. Why should it be? Is there anything wrong with legal vigilantism? I don't think the world has much to lose by the deaths of armed pirates personally. If we can find our hunters who kill deer and the like for sport and give them targets that actually possess malicious intent, it sounds like a heck of a lot better way to pit the scum of society against itself. (Sure, the armed forces do this already, but why not the direct promise of getting to kill - for our most violent individuals?)
Plus, an entrepreneur such as the fictional one on this site might make a buck or two in the process. Sadly, this appears to be genuine, not something from the Onion.
Primary coverage (in German) http://www.wirtschaftsblatt.at/home/lifeandstyle/timeout/379940/index.do CNBC meta commetary http://www.cnbc.com/id/31551995/site/14081545 Actually, it IS a hoax. Here is the humor site it originally appeared on: http://www.tothepointnews.com/content/view/3617/85/
This is more a statement on the gullibility of internet bloggers, rather than the decadance of rich people. I don't know if this is tongue in cheek or not, but the Russians are offering the same luxury pirate hunting curises for REAL.
I just wanna know if I can bring my prize huntin' dawg....he's real good at attacking Panty Waist Liberal Politicians. He'd probably think he'd died and gone to dog heaven if he could sink his teeth into some pirate tail! It's just satire... decent attention to detail until the part about the minigun. The minigun fires 7.62 NATO ammo (different from 7.62x39 Russian/Soviet AK ammo), and should be priced roughly in accordance with the other weapons in the offering.
Perhaps it's a decimal error? $450 for 3000 rounds? 30 rounds would go by in the tiniest fraction of a second... Why do people read these stories and miss the most important parts?
http://mercifulcrap.wordpress.com/2009/06/26/pirate-hunters-ahoy/ If you are a U.S citizen and not a russian citizen can you still take part in this fantastic carnage????
you know the pirates are pretty much the good guys no matter how you look at it, if it wasnt for the western world dumping their toxic waste in their waters this wouldnt be happening.
be nice if gaddafi or someone else powerful sends out boats to hunt these so called 'pirate hunters' id there are any for real that is. Ahoy there matey. Start your day off with a good breakfast of my famous Crunchberry.
It doesn't say $450 for 30 rounds, it says $450 for 30 seconds of sustained fire from the minigun.
Uh, no. Pirates and piracy have been around for centuries, and there are numerous reasons for people becoming pirates even if you discount not only the "toxic waste", but the entire existence of the western world. A few examples of such reasons are that it can be easier than a number of jobs, it's profitable as hell, and they can get away with it.
Also, the cruise is a hoax, as has been said several times. Pay attention. Ahhhhhhhhh, does this have anything to do with butt pirates? If so, sign me up!
It would not be funny if the pirates get lucky and take over the ship. What if for example the pirates set mines and blow the ship a new hole. Now you'll have a sinking ship with a bunch of crazy a$$es getting captured and shot. Nothing is safe; there are always possibilities. Kind of remind me of the day when the rangers flew into Mogadishu, Somalia. They all under estimated the Somalians thinking that they had the advantage. It turned out that when they landed in the middle of the city, everyone had a gun pointing at them. From small kids to the elderly. Things did not turned out well for the Rangers.
Can I inquire about shore excursions? I think a fly over patrol in the gunner's seat of a Cobra gunship would be way better than the on-shore Bradley Fighting Vehicle excursions offered by other cruise lines.
Where can I reserved a spot? I can't seem to find an actual link...
: ( The Rangers and Delta landed in Mogadishu without
proper back up because Clinton did not want to appear over powering. At the end of the day, the Rangers and Delta lost 27 men. The skinnies casualties were in the thousands. On any given afternoon, the U.S. military could blow Mogadishu off the map. I believe a boat load of my friends and folks like us would turn any of the pirates into dog meat. Ah well, but that's me. They were a lot more graves dug in Somalia as a result of that fiasco than were dug in the US of A. Outnumbered, yes, outgunned, check the casuality figures.
A quick resupply of our guys would have left a drastically reduced population in Mogadishu. Next time a little prior planning will be in order. Somali pirate hunting looks like good fun, but seems a bit boring in the ocean as the pirates can’t hop around or run. It would be better if short land excursions could be offered that way one could shoot them in their natural habitat too. Also there’s the problem of bringing back trophies since with their dense bone structure and lack of body fat they do tend to sink.
Bullshit.
If this cruise really exists, the Somali pirates would merely deploy mines, wait for the ship to sink and as the rats jump ship, blow their heads off. I AM GOING TO JUMP ON THIS CRUISE. DOES THE SHIP PROVIDE MOUNTING SERVICES TO THE PASSENGERS WHEN ONE OF MORE IS BAGGED? IF SO, WHAT IS THE ESTIMATE FEE FOR A HEAD MOUNT OR FULL BODY MOUNT?
Can I bring Charlie Sheen with me for good luck? Not the drug, the actual Charlie Sheen. But while I'm thinking of it, will there be Charlie Sheen drug sold in the ship's store for a full-on, pirate-hunting adventure?
We will have it up and running within the next three months. No bull about the cruise ship has been pain for. If you think you can afford it please reply, it willnot be cheap per passenger, but what you have been reading isn't a spoof, yet true to form.
Take Care\ M Are you looking for cruise ship jobs? check out our website at http://www.careeroncruise.com . Good Luck
It's a joke, but there is something behind this that tells something about human nature.
I would say: Animals! buf forgot that animals are way more higher on the morality ladder than our species... |
