Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Love your work and read it daily. In your afternoon/evening update, I hope you add a link or two for stories about the Mann vs. Steyn First Amendment/"climate science" trial verdict travesty.
The Mann v Steyn verdict was a travesty and sadly Steyn’s chances for appeal is very unlikely - at least according Francis Menton, the Manhattan Contrarian.
https://www.manhattancontrarian.com/blog/2024-2-8-trial-of-mann-v-steyn-part-v-jury-instructions-and-closing-argument You are quite correct mudbug, however I expected nothing less from a DC court.
I was following the trial on WUWT website. The verdict is truly a travestity.
mudbug: The Mann v Steyn verdict was a travesty
Steyn accused Mann of fraud. That's actionable. Broadly, Mann was a fraud. He claimed to be a Nobel laureate when he wasn't. He claimed $9M in damages when pressed, he could only substantiate $100K.
What part of Mann's hockey stick was not fraudulent? Two researchers using data supplied by Mann (which was not initially forthcoming) were not able to replicate Mann's work. This, even though Mann omitted unfavorable data. mudbug: What part of Mann's hockey stick was not fraudulent?
Even if you believe the so-called hockey stick was in error, that doesn't constitute fraud. The basic structure of the so-called hockey stick has been repeatedly verified. So, Steyn is wrong, but it's only actionable because he alleged fraud. We are quite happy that those temperatures are rising for the last 24,000 years. We came out of a global cooling that placed a good part of the US and world under thousands of feet of ice. Cooling kills... warming promotes LIFE. Mann is telling tales to enable more grifting of the climate scam. The climate hoax is nothing more than the natural phenomena of temperature rise when exiting an ice age. And CO2 and temperature change are NOT related except in the minds of the hoaxers. Do you really need that graph source posted again?
If, given the same data, a system cannot be replicated, the system is either fraudulent or there were errors in either the original calculations or the replicating calculations. This is how peer review works. Mann maintained that he was correct and did not show the two researchers who could not replicate his results what they had missed. On top of that, data should be freely and openly available which was not the case since the researchers got the runaround when they asked for the original data.
In addition, the late 1920s and early 1930s were undeniably hotter than recent years but in Mann's hockey stick, they are shown as some of the coolest years. The hockey stick also deleted the Medieval Warm Period. mudbug: If, given the same data, a system cannot be replicated, the system is either fraudulent or there were errors in either the original calculations or the replicating calculations.
What part of repeatedly verified don't you get? mudbug: Mann maintained that he was correct and did not show the two researchers who could not replicate his results what they had missed. That's the second time you have referred to "two researchers" without a citation. mudbug: On top of that, data should be freely and openly available which was not the case since the researchers got the runaround when they asked for the original data. The data for the historical reconstruction was publicly available. Modern data was not publicly available at the time, because it was owned by multiple entities around the globe, and Mann didn't have the right to share it. All the data is now publicly available. mudbug: In addition, the late 1920s and early 1930s were undeniably hotter than recent years but in Mann's hockey stick, they are shown as some of the coolest years. That is incorrect. Here is an independent reconstruction of modern data. mudbug: The hockey stick also deleted the Medieval Warm Period. The Medieval Warm Period was not globally synchronous, so the global mean temperature anomaly was not that much above the previous period. Regardless, even if Mann was wrong, that doesn't make it fraudulent. You really have to do better than the 24,000 year hockey stick reference that was posted above. Even a 6th grade earth day scholar could tell you that the temperatures will rise from the middle of an ice age to the present day. That is actually a rather embarrassing tweet from the tweeter but I doubt they realize that. Michael Mann's hockey stick is ever as much an embarrassment but it's all for the grifting in exchange for power and control by government. Even a pimp government understands such prostitution.

Here's a lucid appraisal of Tucker's Putin interview and whut's up with Joe. Ol' Vlad is shockingly astute compared to that senile creature pretending to be President. https://kunstler.com/clusterfuck-nation/eventful-events/
Bird Dog: Why? Every journalist wants a Putin interview
Sure, but Putin wouldn't give an interview with a journalist but instead went with a pro-Kremlin provocateur. Tom Hyland: Ol' Vlad is shockingly astute compared to that senile creature pretending to be President. But did he make the trains run on time? Tom Hyland (from link): “if it was 2013, when did I stop being Vice President?” Sounds like a rhetorical question. Biden was Vice President and had legal access to classified information. Regardless, Justice Department policy is to avoid disparaging remarks absent an indictment. This looks like the shepherd's crook reaching for Biden's neck to finally yank him off center stage. I applaud. Bob Hur's evaluation of Joe's brain damage, the same day that Tucker's Putin interview is aired has underlined the obvious... it's a bribed and corrupt US that keeps Russia as a pariah. It's all about the money. Killing is fun AND profitable. Not for us, the rabble, but for the Owners.
Tom Hyland: it's a bribed and corrupt US that keeps Russia as a pariah.
Russia invaded Ukraine. Yes indeed, Russia invaded Ukraine. You got a problem with that? Russia has every reason to protect itself from NATO, which promised not to encroach further towards Russia but keeps on doing it anyway. Watch the Putin interview and brush up on real history, not the propaganda Americans are fed. Tucker's 9 minute review after his Vlad encounter was enlightening. Who are you working for?
"Yes indeed, Russia invaded Ukraine. You got a problem with that?"
Hmm... just who are you working for, Tom?

The propaganda Americans are fed comes from the very 'journalists' that the borg approves. I'm sure the Russia, Russia, Russia journalist are at the forefront along with the safe and effective covid journalists.

Yes, it's a violation of international law against aggression, to which Russia is a signatory. It's a violation of the Budapest Memorandum, to which Russia is a signatory. Tom Hyland: Russia has every reason to protect itself from NATO, which promised not to encroach further towards Russia but keeps on doing it anyway. There is no such agreement. Every sovereign nation has the right to enter treaties with other nations, including defensive alliances. The CIA fomented coup of 2014 which overthrew the Ukrainian president and landed the US lapdog Zelenski in his place was an act of aggression against Russia. The CIA has a decades long history of overthrowing democratically elected governments. Putin spoke of the 2014 coup at length. What TV show are you watching? You probably won't watch this but Tucker's 9 minute summation of his interview is at the bottom of this Unz article.

Was the Ukraine genocide of Russians living in Ukraine against international law? Did you really think that killing Russians living in the Ukraine was going to promote world peace? The State department gave assurances to Russia that NATO would not encroach on Russia when East Germany was allowed integration with West Germany. And in the Putin interview we find out that it was Bill Clinton that ignored that agreement and started the NATO move toward the Russian border. The US started this crap and continues the provocation along with Britian that told Zelensky to scrap a peace initiative.
No surprise that it was Hillary promoting the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax with the pee dossier. And Britian again provided the assist with Steele putting the fabrication together.

The Maidan Revolution was a popular uprising against the corrupt Yanukovych regime, who was a kleptocratic tool of the Kremlin.

The corrupt Zelensky administration is an improvement? Getting tens of thousands of Ukraines killed and siphoning off US aid is an improvement for the Ukraine citizen? The CIA/State dept pulled off the Maidan revolution to continue the US/NATO assault on the Russian border. Has everyone already forgotten about the Ukraine biolabs. You know, the ones that Richard Lugar and Obama worked on establishing on Ukraine territory.
The Ukraine parliament even violated their own constitution in the impeachment of their president. They failed to garner enough votes for impeachment. To get elected Zelensky even ran as a peace candidate to garner the votes to win. How did it work out with the British vetoing that idea? But, but, but, international law. This is just another democrat authoritarian clown world show.

Don: Access yes, to take it with him I'm not so sure.
Taking work home is typical for a Vice President. Any government documents should have been returned when he left office. A lot of the material at issue were his personal notes, but many of those may be considered classified. In any case, when asked, Biden returned the documents and gave the government access to search for additional documents. That tends to undermine any claim of intent required under criminal law. As the Special Counsel pointed out, the reason Trump is being charged is because he defied a court order to return the documents. They can be taken only if they are stored in a secure room. A garage is not a secure room that meets regulations. And Biden did not return the documents, they were found by others and then they used lawyers to return them. Biden has all he can do to find his car and car keys.

Thanks for that link; a good summation of yesterday's news.
re EU Globalists Threaten Tucker Carlson
They are afraid of Tucker. His interview will challenge The Narrative and give the peasants another point of view. No one is "afraid of Tucker".
He seems quite intent on beclowning himself though. I can't figure out why. Did you even watch the entire interview? I'm going out on a limb here and guess you didn't...just because 'Putin is Hitler' or some other nonsense. At least give your brain a chance.
"I'm going out on a limb here and guess you didn't...just because 'Putin is Hitler' or some other nonsense."
Yes, you are going out on a limb here. EU Globalists Threaten Tucker Carlson With Travel Ban, Sanctions for Putin Interview
Why? Because EU Globalists don't like counter-propaganda to interfere with their lies. People might figure out some truth. QUOTE: EU Globalists Threaten Tucker Carlson With Travel Ban, Sanctions for Putin Interview 'No Discussions' On EU Sanctions Against Tucker Carlson Hungary has already informed them that they would refuse to back any sanctions against Tucker. The EU would be wasting their time.
Yep, feeblemind screwed up, he trusted Newsweek, MSN.com, Yahoo News, The Guardian to get his news. :-)v
Ew. Ew. Ew.
Did that Muslim transcriber keep his testicles in the fridge because he thought he might want to reattach them at some point? That's a refrigerator that I would be shipping to the nearest landfill. “Never put your balls in the freezer.” Words to live by!
Danish energy company sucking wind... They depended on government largesse and cheap interest. Typical statist failure points. Will they be 'bailed out' like the banking industry?
“Man ruled too senile to stand trial still fine to run the country..”
“I take responsibility for not having seen exactly what my staff would do!” Well, okay then! Guess you had to be there.
QUOTE: In his interview with our office, Mr. Biden’s memory was worse. He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (“if it was 2013, when did I stop being Vice President?”), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (“in 2009, am I still Vice president?”). He did not remember even within several years, when his son Beau died. And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him.” |
