Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

'Anheuser-Busch Defends Making Trans Activist Dylan Mulvaney a Spokesperson'
Dad introduced me to Sierra Nevada. Much better. Poor VDH: The Republic is already passed. We are living under a leftist radical oligarchy, where those who are in league with them - including their shock troops - above the law, and those who are not subject to its use as a weapon.
Pretending otherwise is cruel and counterproductive. A Livingstone: Poor VDH: The Republic is already passed.
Hanson does his usual Gish Gallop. 1) That a prosecutor would try to catch someone he considers corrupt is not something new to the world, much less to modern America. 2) That presidents have never been indicted says much about the lack of accountability for the rich and powerful in America. Consider Nixon. Other democratic countries manage to hold their politicians legally accountable. 3) If Trump committed a crime, it doesn't matter whether he is running for office or not. 4) Bragg also passed on prosecution previously, but continued to develop evidence. As of this moment, the charges haven't even been made public. Nor has a judge ruled on the validity of the charges. 5) It is not unusual for witnesses to be fellow criminals. It is often up to the jury to discern the truth. 6) If Trump is believed to be corrupt, then it would not be unexpected for there to be efforts to bring him to account. Again, consider Nixon. None of this indicates the end of the Republic. Interesting how you address VDH’s comments but not mine. Does misdirection come naturally to you, or is there a special class where this form of debate is taught?
A Livingstone: Interesting how you address VDH’s comments but not mine.
A Livingstone: The Republic is already passed. Z: None of this indicates the end of the Republic. Isn't that addressing your comment? I stated the Republic is passed because that the law is used as a selective weapon against those opposed to the regime, and used to protect against those allied with the regime members and allies.
You didn’t address that statement at all, because it is demonstrably true, in multiple situations : Antifa from Trump inauguration through the post Floyd riots v Proud Boys/J6 protestors; McCabe/Strok/Page v Flynn/Bannon/etc.; Attacks on Pregnancy Crisis Centers v Prayers outside of abortion providers; Attacks on Christian facilities v attempts to keep sexual content out of public schools. In every above cited situation the law and its institutions are used to oppress and prosecute those who stand opposed to the Democrats and the Left, and protect those who engage in actual criminal behavior. This is no longer a Constitutional Republic - it is an oligarchy run by the allies of the Democrat/Corporate/Groomer axis. Where am I wrong? Please be specific.

A Livingstone: I stated the Republic is passed because that the law is used as a selective weapon against those opposed to the regime, and used to protect against those allied with the regime members and allies.
We responded to the former case, as a selective weapon against those opposed to the "regime." Hanson did also provide 20 examples of the latter case, as a selective weapon withheld to protect those allied with the "regime," but we avoided the Gish Gallop. We'll address your examples instead. A Livingstone: Antifa from Trump inauguration through the post Floyd riots v Proud Boys/J6 protestors With Antifa, you point to a long stretch of time, but thousands of rioters were arrested during the Floyd protests, hundreds prosecuted. Most were not associated with radical groups, though. With the J6 rioters, they were attempting to impeded the peaceful and lawful transfer of presidential power and threatened the lives of members of Congress and the Vice President. That made it a federal issue. Some have already been convicted of seditious conspiracy. A Livingstone: McCabe/Strok/Page v Flynn/Bannon/etc. Flynn pleaded guilty. Bannon defied a subpoena. The grand jury declined to indict McCabe (lacking candor during an administrative investigation is usually punished administratively). Have no idea why you brought up Strzok or Page. A Livingstone: Attacks on Pregnancy Crisis Centers v Prayers outside of abortion providers You have to catch them first. As for praying outside abortion providers, many jurisdiction provide an area around the abortion facility so patients can enter the facility without being put under duress. A Livingstone: Attacks on Christian facilities v attempts to keep sexual content out of public schools. You might want to clarify your comparison. But keeping sexual content out of public schools would mean banning the Bible from the school library.

IN JUST NOW: A federal appeals court upheld the use of the "obstruction of an official proceeding" charge against the hundreds of January 6 rioters that could be proven to have intended to stop the certification. See United States v. Fischer

I was going to do the work, search out the links and references, and engage you further. But your last point (re the Bible) saves me the trouble, and betrayed something truly disturbing.
Your ideology has overtaken your humanity. It's not the sophistry and willful ignorance. You are either flirting with or in the brace of something evil. There is nothing I can do or say that will change your course, as you are in the grips of something that is beyond my ability to address. I pray that you can find the inner strength to fight back against what can only be called demonic spirits within, and seek outside counsel. Not to be too hyperbolic, but the the soul of our nation is dependent upon you and others in the grip of this same spirit finding their way back to the light. Godspeed.

Notably, we responded to each of your several points. You responded to none of ours. Nor did you attempt to clarify your point about "attempts to keep sexual content out of public schools". As for the Bible, it has been pulled from many school libraries, at least temporarily, for containing sexual and violent imagery, including incest, onanism, bestiality, prostitution, genital mutilation, fellatio, rape, and infanticide. It illustrates the problem with blanket censorship, such as you had suggested, rather than balanced moderation through professional librarians. The Bible has historical and literary importance which far outweigh the graphic nature of much of its content. That's the point, of course.

re Anheuser-Busch Defends Making Trans Activist Dylan Mulvaney a Spokesperson
QUOTE: “Anheuser-Busch works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics and passion points. From time to time, we produce unique commemorative cans for fans and for brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney. This commemorative can was a gift to celebrate a personal milestone and is not for sale to the general public.” That spin isn't going to cut it. They may gain market share with the tranny demographic, but I would speculate it will come at the cost of market share in every other demographic. What man wants to be seen drinking "Tranny Beer"? It will be interesting to see the effect this PR disaster will have on Bud Light sales. Anheuser-Busch works with hundreds of influencers shills across our brands
There, I fixed it. Really? To think I lived all my life without knowing that.
So Anheuser-Busch is feeding a man’s (and society’s) delusions because a lot of people watch him pretend to be a woman.
mudbug: So Anheuser-Busch is feeding a man’s (and society’s) delusions because a lot of people watch him pretend to be a woman.
Regardless of how you characterize it, a billion is a lot of views. Advertising is all about the views. I’ll put it another way: either A-B doesn’t care what delusions their spokesperson person advance (or what potential damage they might cause) because they are only interested in the fact that a lot of people watch him or they are in agreement with his delusions.

Heh. Well, there are always limiting factors. As shown above, most people outside that cultural milieu may never have become aware of the influencer endorsement. That is, until it was turned into a thing by the right wing media. Because who cares? But cancel away!

https://dailycaller.com/2023/04/03/peter-strzok-fbi-jordan-msnbc-mtg/ Which violence would that be, Pete? By the Democrat/liberal/progressive standard, speech that disagrees with the Democrat/liberal/progressive narrative is violence; violence in support of the Democrat/liberal/progressive narrative is free speech. (mostly peaceful...)
Boston's Children's Hospital should also prepare for a drstic increase in civil law suits.
I remember the Cuban missile crisis well. JFK screwed up. We came closer than the article states to nuclear war. JFK's screw ups go back to the bay of pigs which he also screwed up. The CIA screwed up. An Dean Rusk didn't save us the U.S. navy and the Air Force saved us.
The article was decidedly meh. The newly released background details from the Soviet archives were somewhat interesting, though.
But the attempt to cast Putin as Kruschev reincarnated amounts to little more than wishcasting. And when everything from non-US sources is "propaganda" you've told me that I shouldn't take you seriously. Move Over, Pierre Delecto: It Looks as If AOC Has a Burner Account, and It’s a Doozy
“zaza demon,” QUOTE: Worst of all was when Matt Walsh tweeted this on March 28: “I came to the conclusion years ago that the trans movement is the greatest evil our country faces. I only become more and more sure of this fact with each passing day, and more and more determined to oppose it until my last breath.” That was far too much for zaza demon, who replied, “You are a hateful little freak and i cant wait until you p*ss off a trans person that actually is as unhinged as you claim to say they all are. One wonders if they are preparing the ground for that eventuality? Renee Diresta is why the Restrict act should never even be allowed a vote. It is pure government censorship of any topic or word they consider unacceptable.
There are innumerable ex FBI and CIA employees buried in the social media platforms and there is no way to even determine if they are even ex-employees or are contractors. Government institutions are becoming more weaponized and more a threat to people by the day. That she rose to the higher levels of the intelligence community should be a warning to anyone that the intelligence agencies are a bigger threat to us than to any outside enemy. Be more Yuri Bezmenov and much less Renee Diresta.
How to subvert subversion with Yuri Bezmenov at the Yuri Bezmenov substack. It's inevitable that "Bud Light" will become known as "Light in the Loafers".
It was revealed today Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 felony counts over 1 check!
What a fucking joke. I hope it's just a fucking joke. We need him back in the White House soon.
The 34 misdemeanors were to facilitate a felony so serious it rises to the level of "that which cannot be named". So it isn't even mentioned in the documents.
Not one check, but similar idea. There were several monthly checks involved and Bragg took each check as three separate counts of falsifying documents: one for the invoice, one for the ledger entry, and one for the check stub. See a succinct summary over at Powerline (no admirers of Trump):
