Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Who should take responsibility for your wellbeing? Me, myself, and I.
Atlanta hate hoax: Author of KKK notes turns out to be black woman: Yeah, there's a dearth of hate hoaxes these days. This morning I made a doctor's appointment for my wife, over the telephone. Before we ever got to scheduling, the operator started asking me about COVID symptoms. I said, 'wait a minute - why are you asking me about COVID symptoms? Won't she get the same questions when she shows up at the clinic?" "Yes" "well then, it's irrelevant, asking me these over the telephone, right now, when her appointment is going to be weeks out. Why are you asking these questions??" 'It's just procedure'.
I can't wait for sanity to return to medicine. These people have made themselves delusional, and it is destroying faith in medical institutions. They are making irrational policy decisions now, and that's scary. QUOTE: The sitting president of the United States, advised by the nation's top infectious diseases specialists, doesn't know what is now common knowledge; that vaccinated individuals can still spread Covid-19. … "If you seek care at a healthcare facility, you should have a certainty that the people providing that care are protected from Covid and cannot spread it to you," Biden said, explaining the rationale behind forcing healthcare workers and other professionals to get vaccinated or lose their job." https://meaninginhistory.substack.com/p/what-kind-of-a-joke-regime-is-this What is the true purpose behind the forced ‘vaccination’? Is it just forcing compliance? See who will and won’t bend the knee? Why is it that all the illegals and Afghanistan imports are not subjected to forced vaccination? Why is natural immunity blown off as ineffective? Why is it so important to be ‘vaccinated’ against a virus that has a 99% survivability rate? Why is it that people are putting up with this totalitarian regime? Let’s Go Brandon!
There are two valid sides to this issue and a few fake arguments too. But the valid points are:
1. This is a serious virus and will continue to kill 100's of 1000's of people for years perhaps forever. We have been able to mitigate this fact in our minds by assuming it only kills people who are very old, compromised and were probably about to die anyway. But it will continue to mutate and it will at some point increase the death rate for all ages. 2. Most of the mandates the government implemented simply don't work; masks, shutdowns, social distancing, etc. 730,000 deaths in the U.S. so far and 1800 new deaths everyday. This count is roughly equal across the board for states and cities where mandates are eagerly enforced and states and cities where they are ignored. The only effect that these mandates seem to have had is to push 100's of 1000's of businesses into bankruptcy and cause social and civil rights havoc. But, worse yet, is the vaccines don't seem to work very well. Some hospitals now have over 50% of the covid patients that are on life support have been vaccinated. The vaccines "seem" to help but unlike previous vaccines they are not getting this virus under control. The bottom line is we need to stop usurping civil rights and we need to find better preventative and treatments for this virus. We have already seen politics working hard to prevent this (mostly because successful medicines would have made Trump look good) but partly because the treatments in question don't benefit big business AND are contrary to government mandates. I don't think we can fix these issues with the current administration and bureaucracy. They are committed to exploiting it. Those currently making up this administration need to have wall to wall chaos to help deflect the evil they promote.
Excellent points Anon. But there is the added point that these vaccines are not without risk. Have a friend who - for health reasons - has been told she absolutely cannot have "the jab". Have a cousin who came far too close to dying from anaphylactic shock after the jab. And there are doctors who are raising the alarm about serious reactions to the "jab" which the authorities are minimizing (google Lytton dr and Covid vaccine reactions).
Atlanta Hate Hoax: Some people must have an outside enemy to hate and rage against. Their hate and rage is emotionally satisfying AND it relieves them of the responsibility of dealing with their internal emotional dysfunctions. Easier to shift the blame to others than jerk the slack out of yourself. "I don't want that freedom to be responsible for myself."
I think it is more complicated than that. The various special interest groups have benefitted greatly due to their protected status. These people aren't fools they know how they got all the free stuff and they want even more free stuff. So the Kabuki theater must continue to keep the free stuff flowing and increasing. Most actual racial discrimination began disappearing in the 50's and 60's and was virtually gone by the 80's and 90's. It had to be created to keep up the whole reason for special treatment and so those who qualify for that special treatment are faking racial discrimination just to keep that golden goose laying golden eggs into their laps.
I think we agree, OneGuy. An outside enemy makes for feelings of being special, special treatment, special benefits, protected status, etc. Being special without the individual effort to become special.
The talking heads on TV keep disparaging Brian Laundrie's parents for not "cooperating" with law enforcement. While at the same time accusing them of having aided their son to avoid capture. I think there is no better example today of why no one guilty or innocent should "cooperate" with the police. It is clear that the goal here is to somehow trick/trap the Laundries into saying something that will get them arrested.
Malaria Vax - hope they can use it with ivermectin. Another feature of this wonder drug is that kills the malaria mosquito that bites you, so that one can't spread the virus any further. So it doesn't protect you directly, but cuts transmission about 50%.
Ivermectin also combats helminths, parasites in the ground or water supply, which sap the immune system. There seems to be come level of correlation between helminths and malaria, especially in children, so if the former could be reduced the body could perhaps fight the latter better. |
