We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
That is a concept I’ve thought for some time. Any system that doesn’t align with human nature will require force to implement and the more the system diverges from human nature, the more force would be required. The best systems not only aligns with human nature but takes advantage of it are best.
Build rocket ships and fly into space? I'm having a difficult time being mad at Bezos. His creation - Amazon - has been a great gift to Americans - especially us rural Americans. We no longer have to get in the car and drive forty miles, going from store to store, searching for some widget that isn't available locally. I'm not jealous of his Billions - he earned them.
