We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I make a point of fitting in 200 pushups/week. I intersperse them with floor exercises (mountain-climbers, planks, bicycles) in sets of 25 pushups. They are not a power move, but a good general conditioning exercise. If I could do 100 in a row, I'd be very happy.
Pushups are a great exercise. Before shoulder injuries, I remember doing 70 pushups at a time. Maybe it was the 70 pushups at once that caused the shoulder pain? I need to get back on the bandwagon, even if I only do 20 at once.
Pushups got me through University; the quick intensive exercise allowed me to concentrate on reading. One 25 set between 40 minute reading sessions, maybe 400 push ups a week and a lot of reading. But they didn't help me learn to pronounce French.
