We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Google's motto used to be, "Do be evil." It's very appropriate that they no longer use that motto.
I try not to use any Google products. I use DuckDuckGo instead of Google for search and I use Opera for my browser. I occasionally use Google tools such as translate, but the only thing that I have not been able to get away from is Android. I can't afford iPhones for my family.
I agree somewhat with your assessment of Google's search. There are instances where Google will give better results. In my experience, the difference between Google and DuckDuckGo is lessening and then being a pensioner, the searches I do don't require the slightly better result that Google gives and I'm very happy that DuckDuckGo does not save any searches I make unlike Google.
The change from 'platform' to 'publisher' is fully exposed here. ( I went to the project veritas website to watch) I'm on your path, mudbug. Deplatform google right back. I too use g for translate or occasional lurk at news, as one ought to keep an eye on what a deceiver is up to without being a minion. I am getting off gmail and att to boot.
I posted the link to the Gateway Pundit story on my Facebook page mid-day yesterday and shared it. I have a number of friends who would have commented on it; none have. I suspect FB has shadow-banned me or the post.
