We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The rule is: When something good for Trump happens, find the nearest bad thing and make that the focus of the news report.
Scott heard on CNN: Is Mueller a Putin puppet?
The vast attempt to undo the 2016 election has failed. History moves on. The NeverTrumpers cannot
"Stories have been coming out for some time now hinting Mueller’s final report might leave audiences 'disappointed,' as if a President not being a foreign spy could somehow be bad news."
Of course it is good news, but hardly surprising

We demand a special prosecutor to investigate Mueller's collusion with Russia to undermine the report.
My favorite tweet so far after the Lindsey Graham jewel: "Trump was exonerated only in the Electoral College report. He's still guilty in the Popular report."
I'll say again now that the Mueller investigation is over; appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the investigators. Appoint one to investigate Obama and his administrations role in this crime. Appoint one to investigate Hillary and her aides. The Democrats will continue to muddy the water with their lies and accusations. They will pull this same crap on the next Republican president. They are bullies and need their eyes blackened. Investigate them.
Agreed. Some on the left contend that Mueller did not do a thorough job investigating the Trump/Russia Collusion issue. I agree. He apparently did not investigate the collusion of some in the DOJ and FBI (and the White House?) between the DNC and Hillary campaign that brought the issue up in the first place.
If the question of the potential of Russia interfering in our electoral process by "colluding" with a candidate is important, the question of whether agencies of the government were used or were complicit in interfering in our electoral process is at least as important.
Chuck Todd laments that Trump is going to "banana republic" us which is rich because having government assets influence elections is the essence of banana republics and he doesn't seem concerned about it.
lawsuit against Sackler family
The real reason is money. The Sackler family crime is having lots of money in a litigious society.
" New Zealand: A Nation of Sheep" Every thing that woman says or does says to the world "I am a stupid woman and will lead my people to the destruction of their country and their rights". She is an example of why many people don't want women in positions of leadership. She may be dumber than May in the UK.
Nothing wrong with women in leadership, but liberal women, like their male counterparts, do seem to be a special kind of stupid.
I suspect we are better off without women in leadership positions in most of government. I think it was Adams that brought up the "tyranny of the petticoat".

Sexism is alive and well.
I feel your pain...You're right on que with the Gramsci mandate that communism will not find class warfare in America to be useful. America must be attacked with gender and race warfare. You do remember Gramsci?
Gee whiz, Dad, you've created such animus against internet robots that I half expect a mechanist movement, taken to the very highest levels of organized civilization, to restore us both to the public's good graces, preferably by force against the average citizen, sure.
I'd say we should get right on that, you're welcome. In any case, the more victim groups the better, sure. Notably, the staggering damage done to women by wrongthink probably violates most of the Constitution and thus confirms probable damages borne by you and I for mechanistic discrimination, right? Or has your holy sacred public causes module finally been installed alongside your pointlessly showy chivalry amplifier unit, while shorting out the that's life, pal transistor?
I think I remember Adams and Madison being on about that a lot. We noticed you never address the point, you're welcome. Gee whiz.
Re: Morris Dees and the SPLC
It's about time we learn that the SPLC is an organization that the SPLC should have listed as a hate group.
It's so obvious that Moser is right that the SPLC was really about money. The SPLC did a little good, a lot of bad, and made a lot of money in the process. Why would a tax-free operation put millions of dollars in untraceable off-shore accounts?
The Five Dumbest Things In The New York Times Coverage Of The Issuance Of The Mueller Report: Why I despise, detest, and distrust the NYT.
"Henry Tseng, who exercised every day at age 111, dies"
I thought the gang of Z would be here by now, offering mea culpas. They must still be gathered in meetings on how to spin the bad news. It’s all a conspiracy now; the Russians got to Muller!
Nah... I expected him to leverage the fact that Mueller wouldn't make a decision on obstruction. In fact, his saying that about obstruction is exactly what Comey did when he exonerated Hillary. An investigation should either lead to indictments or not and then shut up which is the case Dershowitz makes here: https://youtu.be/lS16gUkTvoU
B. Hammer: I thought the gang of Z would be here by now
We haven't seen the report. We know what the Attorney General has said: "The Special Counsel found that Russian government actors successfully hacked into computers and obtained emails from persons affiliated with the Clinton campaign and Democratic Party organizations, and publicly disseminated those materials through various intermediaries, including WikiLeaks." We also know, from public records, that Trump long denied that Russia interfered in the election.
Since we still buy into "con" perhaps we can tap dance around all our false speculation of the last two years or so in any case.
Selective editing Z?
You failed to include this from Barr's summary: "But as noted above, the Special Counsel did not find that the Trump campaign, or anyone associated with it, conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in these efforts, despite multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign."
And again, what's with this "we" stuff? There's only one of you, Lee.
Why do you keep calling him Lee? Do you know this person? It seems odd, in the extreme, that a single person would refer to himself in the plural, like he belongs to some sort of Think Tank.
A little googling and you can find out who Zack is.
Why he refers to himself as "we" I have no idea.
I guess I should have added the /s (sarcasm) symbol. I never imagined that you would actually admit that you are wrong about anything. And I should have waited, realized, that the left would move right on to something else. Now it is obstruction of justice!
Christopher B: Don't strain your back moving those goal posts.
The goal posts are right where they were.
Z, 2019-01-26: We do not have direct evidence as to whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, but we do know that a lot of people in the Trump campaign have lied about their contacts with Russia and WikiLeaks, including almost certainly Roger Stone.
Reiterating the point: Russian hacked the DNC and released them to damage the Clinton campaign. And Trump long denied that they did.
So the FBI has the server and has done their analysis of the server?
indyjonesouthere: So the FBI has the server and has done their analysis of the server?
The FBI was provided server logs. We know the URL used to phish the Podesta account. Guccifer had a problem with his VPN, revealing his location in Russian intelligence. There is a pattern of Russian cyberwarfare against other democracies. And there is presumably additional information available to Mueller's investigatory team which led them to that conclusion, some of which may be in the final report.
The "con" lives on and we're never wrong just ambiguous.
As usual you are avoiding a direct question. Does the FBI have the server? Has the FBI analyzed the server condition and contents? That's how you determine if they were hacked or if the info was downloaded onto a thumb drive. If the FBI has no access to the server then everything we have been told about it is second hand information from highly unreliable sources.
indyjonesouthere: Does the FBI have the server?
No. The server was in use at the time.
indyjonesouthere: That's how you determine if they were hacked or if the info was downloaded onto a thumb drive.
That is not necessarily the case, as other evidence may be sufficient. The FBI was provided server logs. We know the URL used to phish the Podesta account. Guccifer had a problem with his VPN, revealing his location in Russian intelligence. There is a pattern of Russian cyberwarfare against other democracies. Multiple lines of evidence strengthens the conclusion. This evidence doesn't go away because you demand something else. There may also be additional information available to Mueller's investigatory team which led them to that conclusion, some of which may be in the final report.
See, we answer questions ambiguously.
We have proof Trump colluded with the Russians to influence the elections.
If only Mueller had contacted us...

David Gergen advises Trump to follow Churchill: ‘In victory, magnanimity’
“It's totally understandable as everyone is saying that they, the Trump people, are celebrating. I understand that. But when the president calls it an illegal takedown, an illegal takedown, that's a vindictive view,” Gergen said. “He’d be well advised to remember Churchill, who said ‘In victory, magnanimity.’
Gergen said Trump risks alienating people in the middle of the political spectrum who might be less inclined to support him in the upcoming presidential election if he goes on the offense and attacks the 22-month-long probe and those who voiced support for it. Gergen said people “are going to find that kind of argument pretty insufferable.””
There you have it, from inside The Beltway.
Gergen seems to be pleading for mercy for the guilty dems.
Apparently it hasn't occurred to him that the peasants might like to see justice served.
One wonders how long it has been since David Rodham Gergen has had any contact with the little people??
Gergen suggests Trump show some magnanimity?
Wonder what Brett Kavanaugh thinks about that?
Gergen is as well connected to reality as Chris Mathews.
Trumps free speech campus order...finally putting a price on not upholding the right to free speech on the campus. It should also apply to denial of student loans being allowed to students attending that campus.
Rosenstrasse is a wonderful movie based on the protest. The truth of the matter is that the National Socialists could not get away with the kind of shit they could in the Slavic countries and had to tread a little more softly in instigating their policies.
I highly recommend it.
