Moral Outrage explanations
In addition, 1) for some, it is a revenue stream, 2) when it's a public shtick(especially the hoaxes), it seems Munchausen like, and 3) sometimes, it reminds me of bar talk by people who are in their cups.

Much of the media has been subsumed into the broader category of Infotainment. It is about revenues and click bait. This industry exists for profit, lest we forget that it is a business and corporate.
It is also easier for media savvy people or PR practitioners, to manipulate the news with false flags, hoaxes, and planted stories, ala Ben Rhodes, the more maudlin, bizarre or inflammatory, the better.
I am sometimes reminded of women's magazines from the 70s. What turned me off to women's magazines is that many advertisements were camouflaged as articles.

As an aside, the Germans sometimes called the Canadians Sturmtruppen in WWI, likely because the Canadian Corps proved highly innovative and adopted very similar tactics for trench warfare.

Today the "501 Squadron" has men and women dressed as Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, and various other villains who attend events on behalf of charity. Children's hospitals will invite them - the Storm Troopers are very popular with the children and there are many selfies taken. One Trooper once took young son to an event dressed in mini-Trooper gear and EVERYONE wanted a photo.

It is apparent now that this has been a conspiracy all along. Senator Franken didn't ask that narrowly crafted question by chance. Sessions was set up. It is also clear to me that Obama is behind all of this. I'm guessing he was so confident that the MSM would cover for him and his fingerprints would never be discovered that he was careless.

My impression of Sessions is that he is such a nice guy and his moral compass is so straight that it is simply beyond his comprehension that former friends and associates would pull off this dirty trick. But we can see it happening everyday on TV right before our eyes. I think Rudy Giuliani would have been a better choice for AG. I don't think this conspiracy would have worked with Rudy because he is too street smart.

Congress needs to bring in Obama's people and ask them about this conspiracy under oath. Let them either tell the truth or take the 5th. After they have followed the conspiracy where ever it takes them then they need to bring in Obama and ask him what he knew and when did he know it. I think some people need to go to jail for this.

Every time I read one of these stories I feel like shouting at the computer screen "don't you people believe in carrying a defensive weapon?" Actually what I feel like yelling is not fit to print and not as reasonable as that. But seriously wouldn't it give you great pleasure as a victim of some thug that threw you to the ground to be able to tell the police that even though they wore a mask that they could probably find him at the hospital getting treated for multiple stab wounds. Or carry a gun and they wouldn't have to even go to the hospital to find the perp. My wife carries a small pair pointed of scissors in her purse for those moments when you wish you had "something" to defend yourself with.

What is your plan when confronted by a thug or thugs? What are you going to do when you are thrown to the ground and the thug is sitting on your chest going all Trayvon Martin on your head? The answer is a small knife with a pointed blade that is handy and can be deployed with one hand (pointed scissors will work). You grasp it firmly and then play a little game kinda like smack a mole where you see how many times you can plunge it into your assailants thigh before they can get away from you. Believe me it will take away his interest in punching you or holding you down. Or if you are aware enough to see the assault coming have the knife at the ready and when they grab you you play the same game with their arm or anything within your reach. No hesitation, no warning, simply a single minded effort to see how many holes you can make in their body before they decide to run away.

• We know that Russians hacked a major U.S. political party in order to interfere in the election in order to damage their presidential candidate, and to undermine confidence in the democratic process.

• We know that Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chair, worked with the Russian-allied Ukrainian president before his ouster. Manafort resigned after it was alleged he received large sums of off-the-books money.

• We know that the National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, lied about the nature of his contacts with the Russian government.

• We know that Attorney General Jeff Sessions was ‘less than fully truthful’ when testifying under oath about his contacts with the Russian government, such that he was forced to recuse himself from the investigation.

• We know that Trump called for the Russians to release hacked emails from Hillary Clinton.

• We know that Trump called for the imprisonment of his political opponent.

• We know Russian money flowed into the Trump organization in years past.

• We know from phone records that the Trump campaign had repeated contacts with the Russian government in the year before the election.

• We know that Trump has refused to release his tax returns, and that there are a large number of potential and actual conflicts of interest.

• We know that Trump has spoken glowingly of the autocratic head of Russian’s government while disparaging the leaders of democratic allies in Europe.

• We know that Trump had the Republican platform changed with regards to the Ukraine.

• We know that Trump called members of the press “enemies of the people” for accurately reporting on the above.

While not sufficient to constitute proof of wrongdoing, it is certainly sufficient to justify a closer look.

Here's what we also know:

- During the Cold War, Democrats have asked the Communist Soviet Union to interfere in our elections.

- Democrats have a long history of supporting Communist regimes.

- Putin is ex-KBG.

- While the Communist Party USA does not formally endorse a presidential candidate, they supported Hillary and Obama in the past.

- When Secretary of State, Hillary cozied up to the Russians with her silly reset button.

- Obama was anxious to be more "flexible" with the Russians in his second term when he couldn't run again.

- The US and Russia were signatories to the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances which provided security assurances from the signatories in return for Ukraine divesting itself of nuclear weapons.

- Russia violated the terms of that memorandum by invading Ukraine in 2014. Obama refused to send weapons to the Ukrainians to defend themselves from the Russians and instead sent MREs.

- Russia was interested in trading military and nuclear hardware and expertise with Iran but couldn't because of sanctions. Obama lifted those sanctions with the Iran nuclear deal.

- Several Democratic legislators (e.g. Pelosi, and McCaskill) lied when they said they hadn't had contacts with the Russian Ambassador. Pelosi even exchanged gifts.

- Less than a month before the election, President Obama said the presidential election could not be rigged and there is no evidence of it.

- There were attempts to break into both the Democrat and Republican networks before the election. The attempts against the Republican networks were unsuccessful. Some of those against the Democrats were successful.

- The Democratic Party rigged the primaries so ensure that Hillary would win.

- John Podesta is an idiot who allowed himself to be taken in by the oldes phishing scam on the 'net.

- None of the emails that were hacked or stolen were ever claimed to be altered or faked. All the revelations from them were accurate.

- Several members of the press colluded with the Hillary campaign to support her candidacy. Several members of the press have openly expressed hostility to Trump.

- There have been illegal leaks of government information leaked to the press.

- There is no more evidence that there was collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign than there was that Vice President elect George H. W. Bush climbed into an SR-71 to meet with Iranian officials to secure the release of the Iranian hostages. Democrats insisted on a Congressional investigation into the possibility of such a trip because it was alleged. (sounds familiar).

- The Democrats are capable of the most audacious lies ("For more than 200 years, our party has led the fight for civil rights.").

We now know it was a carefully crafted and nurtured conspiracy to harm the president and his transition team. It may even be treason. Obama is in this up to his big ears. He should be required to testify under oath so we can find out what he knew and when he knew it. The Democrats were fools. They thought they had a perfect dirty trick to undermine the President but they overplayed their hand.

To just say that Russia hacked us misses the real story. Russia hacked everything during Obama's 8 year slumber. They hacked us every day of Rip Van Obama's administration. That much is true. They hacked Hillary's computer system and got a treasure trove of classified information and for that she should go to jail and I hope the FBI finally quits screwing around and does their job on that.
Obama was a disaster for this country we are just beginning to discover how much harm he has done to us. I am looking forward to seeing former Obama staffers being perp walked on TV.

Actually there is zero evidence that the Russians interfered with the election at all. They hacked everything they could but they have been doing that since Al Gore invented the Internet.

There is zero doubt that Obama did indeed try to sabotage the Trump transition team AND the Trump presidency. The only quest is will anyone go to jail for it. I want to see Trump in front of a congressional committee under oath; what did he know and when did he know it?

The U.S. Intelligence Community and independent cyber-security firms have found that the hacks were coordinated by the Russian government. The releases of hacked information was clearly timed for maximum political effect.

I just read an article the other day about left wing commentators on the web. The guy who did the reasearch found that 60% of the left wing comments were made from only 100 URLs and were made from 9-5. There are paid commentators who do this as a job.

Zachriel Is a perfect example of a multiple person commenter name looking at an on screen script to respond to conversation stories or comments. Could be Chinese or Indian even which would explain the lack of real logic in the responses. I suppose it could also be AI which would prove that AI has a long way to go.,

If Z is a bot, he's a pretty good one. His main problem is that his link dishonesty is so extreme and so longstanding that I never bother to click on them any more--not even out of morbid curiosity--so his almost exclusive reliance on arrays of links (to the exclusion of any thoughtful argument) means he's wasting his time. I just scroll past these days.

But if others are clicking on his links and learning how empty they are, that's probably a good thing. We should be checking out alternative viewpoints, or at least confirming that they have no force, before cementing our views.

We provided a list of well-documented facts that show that the concern about Russian interference is hardly made-up. When challenged, we provided substantive support for the first fact on the list, and would be happy to provided support for any others that someone may question. In any case, providing facts that undermine Bird Dog's position is a "thoughtful argument".

When la posted on Ted Kennedy and the 1984 election, we linked to PolitiFact, which provides a review of the evidence. If the article is not accurate and complete, then the "thoughtful response" would be to point out errors or omissions in the article.
