We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Carrier leaves 1000 jobs in Indiana, Europe beefs up its defense spending to avoid Trump's ire, Obama admin announces it will not in its last days force its weakening of Israel, Trump is ahead of other incoming admins in naming Cabinet, our Defense Dept will be headed by a wise warrior and not wooses pushing social programs at the cost of battle readiness, and the wins keep coming. President-elect Trump isn't even inaugurated yet and the wins keep coming.
It will nice to have a real president after 8 years. I doubt anyone will ever get close to Obama's record (or lack thereof) as by far the worst president this country has ever had.
Unfortunately, Trump will be inheriting an incredibly messed up country.
I think the American people are starting to realize just how destructive Obama, the Democrats and their leftist anti-American agenda have been to our country. We've had a dead economy for so long (since the Democrats took control of Congress in 2007) that people don't even remember what it is like to have functioning businesses and jobs. It's been like Casto's Cuba, where the apparatchiks tell you constantly every day that everything's great, and yet everything's falling apart.
But now, already, things are starting to revive. All the businesses that have fled the country since 2007 are looking at coming back, and if Trump can get rid of all the leftist regulations and the pathetic socialized medicine system that was forced on us, I hope things will start to turn around quickly.
On Day 1, Trump needs to declare all of Obama's illegal regulations and executive orders null and void, and then Congress needs to begin undoing all of the harmful legislation that has been forced on us.
I lived through the 70s. I fully expect it to get ugly. However, the average American soon gets tired of the temper tantrums of the Left and is willing to have it put down. If Trump can deliver on the economy, he'll have the political capital to put down the Lefties.
