Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

QUOTE: If the Democrats nominated a left-wing Trump, liberals would totally vote for him Let us know when that actually happens. The left has nominated a terrible rotten to the very core of her being person in Hillary Clinton. The difference is that most on the right admit all of the flaws that are inherent to Trump. The left only makes excuses for Hillary and covers up for her total and utter corruption. The left can not handle the truth.
Now do your little quote thing, scramble data through the Borg circuits and spout some more nonsense for us. Trump says dumb and sometimes mean things. Hillary utters pleasant lies - and commits crimes.
QUOTE: How Media Exaggerates Size of Crowd at Hillary Rally... @CNNPolitics Are you reporting on the 50 people who showed up to Hillary rally in Omaha today? How TPPisTreason minimizes size of crowd at Clinton rally. (There are several times 50 people in the crowd.) Several is defined (Merriam-Webster) as: more than two but not very many.
Is your math circuit broke down this morning? One hundred people or even four hundred people, is not a huge crowd for a presidential rally. Maybe chose a different adjective. I look forward to your little quote thing, and more nonsense. You're right. Why there might be 2 - 300 people there! Maybe as even as many as 500!
B Hammer: Several is defined (Merriam-Webster) as: more than two but not very many.
You guys fall for everything. There were about 3,300 people there, not including those in the overflow rooms. I totally agree that the Warthog should remain in service. It is old, but a superb design that delivers a ton of punch for a very reasonable pricetag. Plus, it is so tough that it is practically a flying tank. The sad part is that this is even an issue. It should be a no brainer.
The fighter jocks in the Pentagon have been trying to kill the A-10 since the day the purchase order for the first airframes was signed.
The last time they were relegated to the boneyard they were still there in serviceable condition by the time the next war broke out so they were revived on demand from the ground forces for their unparalleled ground support capabilities and a lot of pressure from that side of the pentagon. The fighter jocks learned their lesson from that and are now taking measures to avoid that ever being a possibility again by destroying the stored aircraft, under the guise of "stripping them to keep the rest of the fleet operational". Actually, the A-10 was fought by the "Fighter Mafia" from before the design was even on paper. It got built by the Air Force when the Army brass effectively threatened to scuttle the so-called Key West Agreement that prevents the Army from owning fixed-wing armed aircraft, and build it themselves.
Extending the life of the A-10 should be thought of as the alternative to the cancelled RAH-66 Comanche project, but every dismantled A-10 is, to the Air Force, more reason to justify the purchase of more F-35s. So, first there is a link about how Trump allies are going to have an 'intervention' and then you have a link that says: "We are not alone in calling out the Anti-Trump press."
Um, isn't the report about this supposed intervention coming from the anti-Trump press? About nine months ago or more, I had a hard time watching Fox because they were so anti-Trump. I stopped watching them for a LONG time. Once the primaries were over, I started to be able to watch some of news again. I found Greta to be fair and some others. But this week? This week reminds me of EXACTLY where I was in January or February of 2016. Once again, so obvious to me that the press - even Fox - is beyond unfair in their coverage of Trump. The same kind of stupid polls that show some sort of 10 point jump for Hillary that makes zero sense when you look at the disaster that was the DNC convention with walk outs and boos and the minuscule crowds Hillary has afterwards. So, these new polls? I don't believe them. The press ginning up a bunch of stories about 'crazy' Trump and an impending 'intervention'? CRAP. The whole "The Khan thing is a disaster" is bogus and contributed.
I suspect Trump is trolling again. He probably knew that Khan did a lot of business with the Saudis, promoted Sharia law for the US, and worked to import more Muslims. None of these facts will give Khan any credibility with the US voter. They certainly negate the loss of his son. His dead son deserves the credit, not necessarily the father. So kick Khan, watch the press and the wimp GOPers go into a frenzy, then make Trump's critics look like the fools and tools they are. Trump in a landslide in November. Have some patience would ya'? When Julian Assange and Wikileaks drop the hammer on Clinton's e-mail traffic exposing her lies under oath to Congress about her knowledge of running guns out of the CIA Annex in Benghazi, you'll know what a politician digging a hole really looks like.
Be patient. It's all in the timing. I don't see how the press is uniquely anti-Trump, they're anti-Republican. I watched CNN a good bit during the primaries and they gave tons of free air-time to Trump, talking to him on the phone, covering his rallies, always having a Trump surrogate of some sort at the analyst round-table, very little critical discussion that wasn't immediately defended or countered. Right up until Trump secured the nomination.
Same thing with the McCain "Maverick" coverage over how he was a great bipartisan statesman or Mitt's moderate Republican bipartisanship right up until they got the nod and then they suddenly became Hitler. Half the stuff dug up about Trump like his business dealings and his women problem and his Russian connections and his wildly reckless accusations and claims were all there during the primaries but the media weren't interested in trashing Trump then. I can guarantee you next year you're going to see a spate of books from journalists issuing mea culpas and navel-gazing analysis and lots of tut-tutting over how the media failed to do its job properly and let Trump get as far as he did and what an awful thing that was. And they started writing those books 6 months ago. They were uniquely anti-Trump during the primaries. You must admit that. Showing him on tv a lot was does not mean they were propping him up. In fact, I remember very distinctly that the press reluctantly started covering him and consistently acted as if he were going to drop out at any minute.
So, of course it appears now they are more anti-Republican...because they always are. But they are more virulent about their coverage and making up rumors because they NEVER wanted Trump to begin with. End of story. NEWS FLASH
We have an "Amber Alert" here today. The local news program is saying this about the victim: "she is 16 years old and developmentally delayed GEEZ LOUISE--you mean she is a 16 year old twit running after the "love of her life" in a pick up truck? Is that what you mean--or, is there a new politically correct language for this typical state of the 16 year old teen age brain (and other anatomical parts)? Most kids graduating US High Schools today are [b]developmentally delayed[/] Question is how to pass on this great nation to them in 30 years? "Developmentally delayed" is a nicer way to say mentally retarded, or with a psychiatric problem. This isn't a case of a normal-if-hormone-addled 16-year-old running around with her boyfriend; it's some guy preying on a mentally-disabled person.
"Geez Louise" indeed. I've decided Trump is part of some devious master plan hatched by the billionaires behind Hilary Clinton. Trump gets to play celebrity political apprentice and have his massive ego stroked. (On TV every night.) As well as his pockets well lined. The moneyed interests get their corrupt, pliable candidate in Hilary Clinton-(who the majority of people loathe-but will hold their nose and vote because Trump acts like an obnoxious 11 year old on a playground.) Although Trump touched on issues in the primary that resonated with voters, he has no real plan. Just slogans. (Which is a liberal's approach to problems. Express-concern/outrage/sensitivity/solidarity on an issue-then move on with the next news cycle. Don't actually roll up your sleeves, dig in and work to resolve the issue.) I've come to this conclusion based on the way Trump goes out of his way to make it hard for people who support him to defend him. It's like he is being paid to throw the fight, but make it look good. (And I'm not crazy-my mother had me tested.)
Thanks for the update Janet--when did this new phrase come into use? I have never heard it before.
