Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

'Creative accounting' — green style


It's a laff riot as Rep. Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Government Oversight and Reform Committee, quizzes some Obama stooges officials on what constitutes a 'green' job:


But it's still guffaws galore as even Rep. Issa wasn't aware how all-encompassing the 'creative accounting' had gone:

I wonder how many green jobs you could say have been lost between January 2009 and today if you apply those creative categories consistently across the whole period?

OK, I've just spent a couple of minutes trying to yjink of a job which could not be considered "green" and ... nothing. Even mining coal - it may be used to work metal used to make solar panels...

Anyone?

Hmm. I admit, I didn't expect my post to evoke that tough a question.

Uh, the septic tank pump-out guy? No, wait, that's 'recycling' of a sort.

Fry cook at a small diner? No, that's also recycling -- if not bioengineering.

You ask the toughies, John!
