I hope you read — or at least glanced over — my post a few weeks ago on genetics, and how wildly misinformed the public is. And that's especially true if you're somewhat young, because there's little question this will impact your life at some point.
Well, using the same criteria I did the first time around (only grabbing snapshots from MSM articles I blunder across on my daily rounds), three more entries have popped up in the weeks hence. The first one is just silly, but the second two do nothing but bring some of the worst fears expressed in the post into sharp relief. I'm going to tie these directly into the original article, so you might want to read that first.
First, the good news.
Okay, we've decided that it's not your fault that you're a fat, lonely, sleepy, fearful transsexual smoker with a failed marriage... and that whole sordid "church incident" was completely beyond your control!
But didn't we miss something?
Yes!

Now you've got all the bases covered!
What's that? The part of the post where the guy murdered all those people and got off with his DNA defense was completely fanciful and would never happen in real life? Well, perhaps you're right. That kind of thing would never happen in America.
At least, not yet.

I guess we should feel grateful they didn't outright release the guy. Maybe next time.
Ah, but I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "Oh, come on, Doc! This is all just crazy! And especially that part about having to take a DNA test before getting a job. Like THAT would ever happen. The Constitution would never allow it!"
Well, of course it wouldn't. What a silly notion!

Let's hope you don't test positive for the (to be determined) gene.
