Yankeeland woods this week

If you look carefully at this branch, you can see the stringy yellow flowers of Witch Hazel in their November bloom. Mountain Laurel is green in the background. Lousy photo:

Similar photo to that of earlier this morning. These woods are mostly Beech and Oak, which are the climax upland forest around here. Both hold their leaves late into the autumn and winter while they gradually turn brown.

It's not all about allocation of resources --it's also about life-span extending research they wish to be shelved.

Either hamstring, demoralize, impoverish, and wage lawfare on the organizations doing the germinal biochemistry, or the party apparatus may have to quit obstructing reform of entitlement programs.

The law of numbers will eventually act on its own and choose one of the two choices, but meanwhile mankind can perhaps yet still decide, and opt for one of two choices: adapt the programs to the number of people, or adapt the number of people to the programs. Each of the two choices falls neatly into the center of each of our two parties.
